View Full Version : Is Terrence Williams A Bust?

He was the #11 overall pick in 2009.

In that span of time he has burned bridges with every, been fined multiple times by the New Jersey Nets, spent time in the NBDL as "punishment", forced his way out of New Jersey, and now hes burning bridges with Rick Adelman. Hes also complained about not being able to play in Houston.

Hes a sub-40% shooter and he thinks hes "great".

Is he a bust? I think his attitude will keep teams from signing him once Houston lets him go.

When did he burn bridges with adelman?
He just doesn't fit the rotation right now cuz his style isn't right for this offense but rick adelman might not even be back next year. Is he a bust? Its too early to tell.

I think he could play better on a team he could handle the ball more.

I will add he spends way too much time imo on twitter.
What's funny is ppl say "if you spend as much time on your game as you do on twitter you might get playing time."then he retweets it lol

I don't know why people were so obsessed with him in the first place.

Good question. I thought he'd get more playing time in Houston so i picked him up in fantasy. Bad idea.

Guess I don't watch much NBA outside of my Lakers, because I'm DEAD SERIOUS when I ask - who is this Terrence Williams?

He burned bridges with Adelman?

Before the deadline:

Frustrated about his lack of playing time, guard/forward Terrence Williams said he hoped the upcoming trade deadline will get him off the Rockets bench. He said he would prefer to play for the Rockets but hopes to be somewhere he can play by the end of the week.

I want to play basketball, whether it is here or somewhere else, Williams, 6-6, said. I like the thought of being here with Aaron (Brooks) from home. But Im here to play basketball and Im not doing it. Its nothing against them. At the end of the day, I just want to play basketball.

I think so. Hes still not getting minutes since he made those comments.

No hes not a bust at all!
The guy is a great passer and is a little immature but loves his fans and has some crazy dunks. Without him the Nets wouldn't have won 12 games. Have great respect for the guy he hasnt played much in Houston.

He has no spot in the rotation right now, he has Kevin Martin, Budinger, and Lee in front of him

the guy mentioned something on twitter early in the season, but has said nothing but the right things since then

and the rockets traded a 1st round pick for him, they wont just let him walk

and the 11th pick is not high enough imo to have great expectations

He is just thick headed and the only person stopping himself from being in any rotation and making an impact

He has played 5 out of the 9 games Houston has had since the trade deadline. That's a higher proportion than he got before the deadline.

What's funny is the Rockets have 3 busts from the 2009 1st rd draft, and we didn't even have a pick.

Thabeet, Hill, and Williams.

Hes a poor mans LeBron.

He does put up crazy numbers in the NBDL.

I doubt he meant "wanting to play" as playing 7,11,5,6 & 4 minutes off the bench.

Its like he always is disgruntled.

He didn't seem to burn any bridges w/ Adelman. He's getting into a greater proportion of games after the break than before.

Poor man's Lebron? That's like 3rd world poor!

People can talk all they want about him, but he hasn't done anything with his career so far.

When you look at the guy, every thing tells you he should be good. But he just isnt. Something's missing and it was also true at Louisville. Its like he's a better athlete than basketball player.

He needs playing time , i thought with Battier leaving he'll get some , but Rockets are cheap on his minutes .

Rivera
03-17-2011, 11:19 AM
hes a bust because

a 13 year old kid from springfield mass looked at terrance williams and said

man if i were you id be taking every advantage of your oppurtunity

and the 13 year old said it in disgust to terrence williams

so that reason alone...hes a bust

With Martin and Budinger playing the way they are, there is no reason for him to get time yet, he has 2 20ppg scorers ahead of him on the depth chart

Trust me, it's true. I'm a Rockets fan.

Plus we got the 27th pick(DeMarre Carroll) in a trade too.

Damn, we woulda been a cold NCAA team with this roster.

SF: Demarre Carrol
PF: Jordan Hill

Twill has pretty good all around skills and is a very good athlete. I remember someone saying though early on that Twill be a jack of all trades, a master of none.

I'd love the Suns to go after him this Offseason. Maybe having Brooks would help lure him (if we resign him)

T-Will has some issues that he needs to take care of; if he can't control his Twitter addiction then maybe he should delete his account, he needs to have a better team-mentality and he needs to focus on utilizing his athleticism more when he does get burn.

Having said that, Terrence has the talent to be a fringe all-star in this league -- he's THAT good. One of the better passers I've seen in a while, he's extremely versatile, has elite athleticism and actually establishes himself on the floor as a leader. He definitely passes the eye-test in that if you just turned on a game for five minutes with TWill on the floor you would think that he was the best player on the court (assuming one's of the league's elite isn't on the opposing team). When he gets some PT -- watch out. Definitely not a bust.

I wish he could get everything together because he has the freakish talent to turn heads if he only had a reason to.

He just seems stubborn tbh. He's been the best player on the court his whole life, now he's in the NBA and just doesn't get it that he's not the best anymore. Reminds me of Ricky Davis in a way.

All that talent but just just doesn't get it. Who know how good Ricky Davis could of been had he dedicated hi self more.

He was the 11th pick. Sure, he could be a descent player, but IMO in the NBA there are really only going to be a handful of good players from each draft, and I dont expect to see a potential all star after the 7th or 8th pick that often.
