Think about .. if he had David lee desire to rebound .. his 25 points 2 blocks and 3 as .. if his boards were 3-4 higher a game.. would that make him an mvp candidate ?? Think about it zbo can't jump 3 inches and averages 13 a game .. amare is prob 3 rd most athletic big man and averages like 8 .. how good would he be if he hustled hard for rebounds

a lot better, also if he tried on defense, they would be a lot better. The team will do what the stars do.

not as good as he'd be if he actually tried to play defense.

thats the thing with PF nowdays.

They are very good at something but lack something to become legends.

Bosh lacks Defense.
dirk Lacks defense
Zach lacks defense
Stou lacks defense and rebounding.
Pau lacks Defense and some Greed in scoring.

The last complete PFs were duncan and Kg.

If any of the aforementioned developed the side of the game they lack they would get into the same breed of Duncan and Kg.

I'm not picking on you, but this is exactly the issue. STAT averages more rebounds than Bosh and Dirk, yet Amare is always classified as a lousy rebounder. So why aren't Dirk and Bosh lousy rebounders ?

^ agreed Hellcrooner, that's why whenever they do those votes on "best PF" I always have Duncan and KG as 1A and 1B. Basketball is about having a complete game. If you are weak in Defense, you are weak at your position overall. For example the whole "Pau is the best PF in the NBA" thing is ridiculously stupid because he stinks on defense and gets tossed around like a ragdoll by opponents. So much for being a POWER forward. Most of the overhyped so-called "elite" PFs like Bosh, Pau and Stoudamire STINK defensively. Duncan and KG - as old as those guys are getting, they still bring a complete game where they are still excellent shooters/scorers, rebounders, passers and elite defenders. They are the best in the game by far.

I dont agree.
Pau does not "stink" he is simply average at defense, that is istill better than stous or bosh.

And his all around game and Dirks Allroound game makes up for it.

kg and tim are a shell of their former selve.

So Pau and Dirk are still 1 and 2 or 2 and 1 .4

KG is a shell of his former self but that shell is still better offensively than the majority of PFs in the league (top 10 territory due to being an elite passer and shooter for his position) and defensively better than 100% of the PFs in the league, so he's still better than the likes of Pau and Dirk, because his all-around game is every bit as complete as theirs.

And Pau certainly does stink on defense. Sorry, he really does.

"box out" isn't in his vocab.

I don't care about his individual rebounds but rather the boxing out department. Plus if only he showed some effort on the defensive end, then he'd be a great basketball player. Now he's just a great offensive player with freakish athleticism
