He sure was excited, so much so that he didn't care the result of the game as shown by his technical with 18 seconds left for pounding his chest and bouncing around like he won the championship after a dunk.

But yeah he was in total beast mode defensively tonight, he got his hands on everything. Impressive game.

Why isn't his Overall higher on 2k? a 69 overall is a joke for this guy. He honestly should be a high 78-80 overall by how hes been playing these days.

looking at that link above it looks like it was marcus camby in 07, and before then Wallace in 02, so I guess its fairly rare in terms of triple doubls, but happens enough

Edit: Dwight Howard of 08.... didn't see that at first

he did average >3 blocks in several seasons...I know he gets ripped but the guy could block shots. Add in the fact that he's 7'6 and I guarantee you're going to get 10 points and 10 boards on some nights.

awesome game by McGee though. He was just a force inside.

His defense is pretty solid, but after watching the last 2 / 3 mins of the Bulls game, you can tell why he's rated low. He has close to no offensive game what so ever. Very raw talent.

Blocks were very impressive... everything else? not so much.

If you actually watched this game, you realize how immature and selfish he is.

He turned the ball over like 3 times in a row trying to get this triple double, and he continually boasted throughout the game like his play was actually making a difference.

There is nothing more foolish than a guy show boating while his team is losing, and losing convincingly.

Not trying to hate whatsoever, but it always leaves me shaking my head when I see a player try that hard for an individual accomplishment like a triple double. No doubt the guy had a great game, but the end of it he looked like a complete fool trying to get one more point so he can say he got a triple double. It's not the first time it's happened, I'm sure it won't be the last, but last night he did something no NBA player wants to do which is put himself in the same sentence as Ricky Davis.

I agree.

If your team is down 20 in the final seconds theres no reason to be celebrating like that. It made him look like an idiot.

The problem with that whole roster seems to be great potential and poor IQ. Javale should focus on consistency and contributing to wins, not some random stat spike.

03-16-2011, 01:31 PM
Blocks great but other than that not too special, is he on the same path as the last guy with 12 blocks? Keon Clark, lets hope not, although they do have the same body type besides McGee being a little heavier.

papipapsmanny
03-16-2011, 02:32 PM
McGee needs to bulk up more, then he can start being like a 15-10 guy i think

His offense has potential, but needs to be refined. Like his jumper isn't bad, but he just isn't good under defensive pressure yet. If he can bulk up he can bump people around a little more and get to the basket.

I think he just turned 23 so ill still give him a chance to be a starter in the league (like a good one)

One of the ugliest Triple Doubles i've ever seen! The Rebs helped his team, the Blocks are awesome, but when ur 7ft (supposed to be a top player on your team) and you struggle to get 10 points, including 4 terrible possesions in a row...u dont deserve it...

He could become good but he needs to work!

Yea that one was tight, but Dwight had a 30pt, 19reb, 10blk, 3ast game against the Thunder and it was the first one since Hakeem in 1996.

He's been really close a number of times and here are a few
Dwight also had a 45pt, 19 reb, 8 blk

Now in the playoffs:
5pts, 7 reb, 9blks, 5 fouls, 27 minutes
19pt, 16reb, 8blk, 3ast
Now in the Finals
16pts, 21 reb, 9blk, 2ast

The fact that Javale was trying so hard to force it, weakness; tell me how many triple doubles Ricky Davis( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MezCclCSjNw&feature=related) & Andray Blatche(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDzRvZcFn48) had? Zero in most peeps minds.

I wouldn't go that far.

I would go:

1. Bowie
1a. Davis

2. Mcgee and all the other stat padders

I just wish Jevale would be more consistant. He doesn't need to average a tripple double by any means, but be a consistant contributer. I see his career being similar to Marcus Camby's. In the right system Camby thrived.

Hakeem: 32 Points, 25 Rebounds, 10 Blocks

Hakeem: 29 Points, 18 Rebounds, 11 Blocks, 10 Assists

That line is amazing...

the thing that separates these performances from current day ones is that these all came when fouls weren't called on every bit of contact and players were able to go harder for blocks; not taking away from these, but imagine if some of these amazing shotblockers were able to go all out like they did back in the 90s.
