View Full Version : Kevin Love: Double-Double Streak Over

Crazy to think that the last time Love didn't have a double-double was November 19th.

Anyways, his streak has been snapped against the Warriors tonight. He was taken out with 3 minutes left in the 4th.

Kudos to Love though. Amazing streak if you ask me.

6 pts against GS?

Why didn't his coach let him stay in the game? Stupid move on the coaches part imo, that was one of the bright spots for Minny fans to talk about this season.

The Dubs coming out with a book called, "How to contain K-Love 101" comes out tomorrow, the rest of the league should get a copy. GO DUBS!!!!!

Well Minny was getting blown out and he was taken out with about 3 or 4 minutes left in the game,, it makes sense why he was taken out. However I feel bad for Love because it's an amazing streak and I kind of wish he could have kept it going, but with that said, the Warriors played he him very, very well.

At least he has still kept his streak of consecutive 10+ rebound games going. I wonder what's the modern day record for that? :D

Rodman probably holds it.

Great run by Love. Nobody would have expected the Dubs as the team to hold him under a double double.

I get that, but if I'm a minny fan, the streak is really the only thing they have to hold onto right now for the rest of this season.

And believe me, being a Knick fan i can tell you when your team sucks, you look for any bright spot possible.

I just don't see the reason to take him out the last few mins, even in a blowout. Let him go down swinging.

The coach would feel 10 times stupider if Love gets injured. Record chasing is bad karma.

I agree, they should have just kept him in....there was times this year when the grizz played minny and he struggled to get a double double..but when he did the minny fans rejoiced as if they won game 7 of the NBA finals.

Dont know whether to be impressed by the fans or just feel sorry for them

Is he still a stat whore even though he was taken out before the game was over and only needed 4 points to keep it going?!

valade16
03-14-2011, 12:21 AM
If they would've kept him in I would not have counted any part of his streak thereafter. The stats are impressive when their not empty like they would've been if he got them in garbage time at the end of a blowout.

Also funny people were arguing how he is far superior to David Lee and he was the one to break the streak. Irony abounds.

People called him that? I just assumed that he was getting boosted stats because his team was bad. Hes still a helluva player and rebounder.

Yeah considering he only had 37 points and 23 rebounds the last time he played against GS and averaged 24 pts and 20 rebounds this season (3 games) against them coming into this game.

Great Accomplishment.

Congrats on great streak.

Minny handled this correctly too. They could have easily ignored what was good for the team (as many of us would have) and let him chase records but they made a tough choice for the teams future

Props to the guy... Although he pad stats, what he was able to do was a great accomplishment that not anyone could be able to pull off...

false. I am hoping to see Flynn break the all time streak for games where a player has at least one sequence a game where they turn it over on 3 straight possessions. I don't know what the record is, but I would guess Flynn is creeping up on it...

03-14-2011, 01:46 PM
If Lee is focused on playing his man and not trying to cover penetrators I think his defense is underrated. He does a pretty good job at ball denial and making guys move off their favored spots. I'm not saying he is a great defender overall, but he does play more defense than he is given credit for. I'd just like to see him playing with a shot-blocker beside him.

if love is such a beast and his stats actually mean somthing why are the timberwolves not doing any better then they are ??

im sorry but this guys stats are padded. when all this individual success translates to W's then i will give him his respect. untill then it just seems to me that he is playing for stats.

Kevin Love is 5th in the NBA in win shares. Our second best guy is Luke Ridnour, who has less than 3.6. How are you supposed to win games when half your roster is 22 years old, and the other half sucks?

I know you are all bent out of shape the LA was left off the all star team because of Love, but are you really going to use that to crap on Love forever? He is having a remarkable season, statistically one that has never been seen when you add his shooting prowess. Cmon man

he has been battling injuries all season. I see why Rambis did it. Sure, he was the bright spot to our season, but its been fun watching the young guys play. Makes us excited for what the future could bring.

Crazy to think that the streak ended against the Warriors of all teams, figure that one out you would think that matchup would be a certain 40/40 game.
