Likely without Kobe for this game because of that ankle injury:

"I thought I was done, like done," Bryant said after the game, fearing he would be out for the rest of the season after suffering what he described as the scariest sprain he's ever had. "I was just praying that when I stood up my foot was lined up straight ... That scared the s--- out of me. I thought I dislocated it."

Colby or no Colby, the Lakers should be able to hang in there against Orlando. Last year Colby was out for a stretch of games we had a pretty good record and we almost beat Boston.

Nervous. We haven't looked good on this road trip, and you'll catch us on the second game of a back-to-back.

Kobe or not, I'm a bit concerned. We've just been so damn inconsistent. I doubt Kobe misses a game with this injury - it's Kobe; he'll play through it.

The Lakers have to control Howard and get out to their shooters and they will win.

Bynum was hurt and out rhythm. Not fair to compare these two at that moment. Right now,if Bynum is not guarding the paint is a party time for the opposition. This is a fact! Gasol is a soft, but very skillful big man. Bynum is a monster defensively and he is showing more flashes of a complete package. Last night against two quality big man,he had a big game. (24/17) He is becoming a dominant big man at both ends and I just hope that he stays healthy.

This is a big test for him. He needs to show that he can contain his possible successor. ynum is capable. He si showing flashes of his previous moments before the two injuries. He was playing lie a super star.

I disagree. Bynum guarded Howard straight up in the 2009 finals and yes he got in foul trouble but that was the game plan. DO NOT GIVE HOWARD DUNKS! But when Bynum sat down, the Lakers defense swarmed Dwight... Trapping him, double teams, and making him turn to the baseline where the help was coming from.

Because when they "experimented" with Pau on him one-on-one, Howard started to score more with "and 1's"... Completely dominating Gasol.

Bynum needs to drop a 30/10 game to impress the Magic and increases their chances of trading for him :D

But nah for real though Bynum or Pau..whoever D12 is sticking needs to go at him to try and get him in foul trouble or at least make him really have to work on D

Lakers should win this one. Just follow the same game plan most teams follow against the Magic. Stay at home on the shooters at all times. The only way the Magic win games most of the time is by hitting a good amount of three-point shots. Also utilize Pau more to try to take Dwight out of the game mentally associated with drawing fouls. ManRam won't this, but it's the truth. :laugh2:

If Drew is focused and motivated (which sometimes he isn't),tomorrow Dwight could live a nightmare.

If he can stay on the court he has a chance. He can't pick up weak-sauce fouls all game, which he has a tendency to do.

Honestly, we're focusing on Howard too much here... Let him get 30 if he wants, just gotta play the shooters. That's how Orlando wins, not by Howard dominating offensively, but by other guys getting shots to drop from the perimeter.

I agree. They have so many options from out there that it spreads the defense really well. Good thing Howard isn't as good a post player so we can just single coverage him. Let him score if he wants.

I'm more worried about getting d12 out because of the defensive end and rebounding... Their D is obviously completely different with him out of the game..not to mention they have no frontline depth...So Pau and Bynum can go to work with D12 gone...

I agree, if he scores 50 points, so let it be. Turkoglu, Richardson, Nelson, Anderson are the guys to watch out for. I have a bad feeling about this one in all truth. Kobe being hurt for one, and coming back home this may be a game where we lose focus. Also, we've been playing such great ball against teams that have guys who can penetrate, Orlando is completely different in that they are an inside out team.

Single coverage on D12, and just stay on the shooters. None of their players take it to the rack, so there is no need to sag off to help on Howard.

If Colby decides to play, the best thing he can do is to not force the action too much and let the offense come to him.

If not, we still have plenty of offense even without him. As long as we limit their 3 point shooting we can keep up scoring wise. And who knows what will happen in the end?

COBY KARL

Throw it into our bigs early to try and get D12 in foul trouble. When we versed them the first time i noticed that we took alot of jump shots. We should attack the rim and force the issue with D12

Bynum is being HORRIBLE on Offense.

Pau is being horribel at rebounding.

Kobe is being Horrible at everything wich serves him well since he shoudl eb at home resting.

Yeah, but leave it to some of the people in this forum and it's "we need to trade Fisher" and "Kobe shoots too much", but they do this year in and year out.

Pau can score with the best of them, BUT his defense is absolutely putrid!!!! But I guess since Bynum is rebounding and playing excellent defense, Pau doesn't have to...

But I like his attitude. He is now accepting his role and eventually,he will command the ball. But he needs to continue to develop his offensive skills to be able to become the man in the future! His health will dictate his future more than anything!

Im just stating WHY they are not looking ofr him on the offense today and why not oging to him is the right thing to do TODAY.

And it is because he is not shooting well.

But it's been games that he was shooting well and they still don't go to him... So his percentage has nothing to do with it...

It's just the fact that he's a 4th maybe 5th option behind Kobe, Pau, Odom, and possibly Fisher.

Anyone else impressed at Bynum having 17 rebounds? 9 offensive!Plus four blocks. Drew is the biggest reason we have been on fire since the all-star break. I have to mention Artest too. Their biggest contribution to this team isn't on the offensive end.

Kobe and Pau are going to do their thing offensively, but those two defensive leaders have picked up their game the most recently. They both didn't seem into it before the break. Add getting Barnes back and I'm excited about our chances at a 3-peat.

Defense has been the key for us lately.

Impressive game today, hats off to Bynum, LO, and Pau. Fisher also played awesome by the way. Was great to see Kobe play great in the 3rd after a less than stellar 1st half. Great team D and crashing the boards, it's gonna be tough for anyone to stop us if we continue to play at this level.

Agree.

Bynum is now averaging more rebounds (8.8) than L.O,unbelievable when you think he was like 4 rbds per game his 10 first games due to a lack of PT.

Now all the pressure is on dallas for the 2nd seed, they play back to back games at portland and GS before facing SA on friday, when we'll face minny at Staples.

2nd seed here we come!

next 6 games are at home. 5 of them are completely winnable (port, clips, wolves, hornets, phx). u can argue the blazers and phx will be tough ones bc they tend to play the lakers well but they are still easily winnable. dallas is a toss up but i think we win that one.

i think all the remaining games are very winnable. the dallas and spurs game are the only 50-50 but this team is very confident right now. Som im predicting a 62-20 record for LA :D
