jim dolan is trying to justify the price hike by saying "we are not making our customers buy PSL'S" how many hocky/NBA teams even have PSL's?

No surprise here,

People forget that during zekes coaching time the cheapest ticket on the highest seat in the garden cost 45$. And we still out sold every other team in the NBA.

Add in melo and amare, yeah tix going up.

I'm sure it has to do with the Garden renovations. On top of that, they'll pinch some money out of the Knicks fans for their two exciting players...

of course it's understandable for a ticket raise because of the renovation but an average raise of 49% is absurd

Cashing in early on a potential big 3 of their own when CP3 joins. Also, they can justify another raise when he does come. Smart business move. Besides, these big city markets can get their fans to donate their paychecks if they wanted.

I like how they make it 49% and not 50% so it seems less

Like when a store charges 19.99 and not 20 dollars

With the prices of every other ticket in this city, were kind of use to it tbh.

knick fans will still buy season tickets next year since they now have melo and stat on their team for the forseeable future. i think it's smart that they raise their season ticket prices, since fans in ny are excited about this team for the first time in a while.

I believe the Heat raised their ticket prices as well. So this is just because of a better team as well as the MSG renovations. And in a fanbase that would sellout for a bad team, two stars will easily draw.

honestly until recently most New yorkers haven't been to a game in years. Last game i went to was 2 years ago and the tickets were give aways. Most real fans watch the game on TV anyway. Lets be real i'd rather spend the money on better things and watch the game on Tv.

Will people still defend Dolan? 49% is insane. I hope no one buys them and he goes broke

This move is terrible for the knicks fan base. Every single game I've been to at the garden in the past years has been filled with business personalities who could care less about the game, and just simply go because they are the only ones who can afford the tickets. The average fan can't afford to be spending over 80 dollars a ticket just for a knick game. Last season the cheapest I got tickets for was 50 dollars, and they weren't very good seats to say the least. I feel the worst for younger, aspiring basketball players who are knicks fans, because when youre a kid 100 bucks is a ton of cash to be laying out on one basketball ticket, and its essentially going to eliminate the middle and lower class from MSG.
