Love just got his 52nd straight double double, passing Moses Malone's streak of 51 straight. impressed?

Congrats to Kevin. No need to start another Love bash thread, but it is worth mentioning, that the NBA record for double doubles since the merger has now been broken.

Anyone who isn't impressed is nuts. 52 games is well over 2/3s of the season. Any streak that long is just insane. I'd love to see what he can do on a great team, hopefully for his sake we can see that some day...but nonetheless, this is a tremendous feat.

Congrats!

52 double doubles straight is insane in today's NBA but he's on a bad team and it doesn't translate to wins. :D

82 / 3 = 27.3 so 27 approx. 27 x 2 = 54. 2 3rds of the season woudl be at the 54 game mark and he did it for 52. Not only is it not even 2 3rds, you said its well over 2 3rds lol.

This is very impressive though. Just thought i d point out that error. I love K Love. He was my 3rd round pick in the draft, and hes been nothing but spectacular for me. I wonder if he can do this the entire season? Now that'd be epic!

I sense the 1 'no' vote is a joke or something. If being on a bad team means u'll get more boards then tell me why it hasn't been done for so long.
This is one of the most impressive feats in the NBA. Most impressive in this day and age. Not even a Quad/Double would be more impressive.

Yeah this is an amazing feat and he continues to do it. I can't believe of all the great players since Moses this hasn't been done.

I don't give a **** how **** his team is, or how **** his teammates are when it comes to rebounds, the guy is a flat-out beast! Dwight doesn't exactly have the best rebounders on his team and he gobbles the boards, but this year he doesn't even come close to this guy

wilt has 220 something..i can't remember the exact number...so all Love has to do is go about 2 fulls seasons getting a double double every game and he has it lol

I initially read it was 227 but I but NBA.com's facebook page says it was 247 and Elvin Hayes was the second closest with 55.

The reports are all conflicting however because if you take a look at this below article it clearly says that Hayes had 60 consecutive as a rookie.

It was the longest streak for a rookie since 12-time NBA All-Star Elvin Hayes registered 60 straight from October 30, 1968 to February 22, 1969.

So I really am not sure who's is right and who is wrong. Really not feeling up to doing the indepth research tonight either.

Congrats K.Love you are a beast on the glass. Anyone that is hating on him is just a fool. He got 21 boards tonight on one leg and in only 27 min. For all those doubters I was at the game, six rows behind the Wolves bench and I could clearly see how swollen his knee was after he took the brace off. The Wolves are the youngest team in the league and can be very good in a few years if they keep their core together.

Also remember this is Love's first season as a starter and he is now the secound fastest all time to 1000 boards.

Someone break it down for me please... Why is he so special??? I have only seen him play a hand full of times this year but every time I look at the box score the guy seems to be putting up 20/20. Is it just his hustle??? Will it hold up? hell even tell me which current player in the nba he is similar to?

It has been bothering me so much I was going to message hanram/Kings4day or Hawkeye and ask them to explain it to me.

Minny needs to pay up. They've been disrespecting this kid since day 1, and all he does is work hard.

Awesome feat, it's not like he was scraping the barrel and averaging just 10 and 10. Legit.

227 is the all time record, and it will never be touched, as many/most records of that era. They played in a much, much higher paced era, and Wilt played 47.6 mpg over his career. I did the math forever ago, so I am trying to recall it off the top of my head, but if you gave Love the minutes/pace Wilt played at, he was at something like 34/23 for the year, to put that era into perspective. For instance, Love's rebound rate is 5% higher than Wilt's was his last few years, when Wilt was grabbing 19 rpg.

This is why you hear "modern era" for records as well.

trade him to a contender

why on earth would they do that? You continously act like only about 5 teams matter.

Minnesota already traded their first superstar to your team. Be grateful for that and move on.

I remember when everyone thought the T-wolves were crazy for trading O.J. Mayo for him.

The guy is a beast. They got the better end of that deal, I must say. Not that Mayo is bad by any means...but come on.

when ur average age is 24, which is therefor the youngest team in the nba, and most of the guys this year are new, idk how you can expect much more. WE dont have that KD that most teams that are great have, honestly what do you expect.

Now lmk when he does something that matters. Like help a team win more than 30 games in a season or play defense.

Anyone who says Love's feat isn't impressive is a little bit blind. The Timberwolves aren't exactly a fantastic team but 52 in a row is outstanding no matter what. He's the best rebounder in the NBA hands down and a pretty solider scorer.
