What's Arron Afflalo's contract situation? I think there's an option on his contract but I'm not sure if it's a team or player one. Anyway, if he hits the market, he would be the perfect signing for the Bulls. I'm rooting for it to happen, I really like this Bulls team at the moment.

I agree... weak sauce FA crop -- I sense the same with the upcoming available draft -- hence the scramble for what marquee players were available.

However, in this order I see the 'Bockers adding depth:

Marc Gasol (not likely available, but developing into a steady C in the league)
Michael Redd (we need a proven 2 gaurd to allow Fields to develop behind)
Jamal Crawford (pure scorer off the bench -- can run the PG too)
Tyson Chandler (boards, D, 7footer)
David West (beast mode)
Carl Landry (beast mode Jr.)
Samual Dalembert (7ft scrub can take up space)
Matt Barnes (D, bench depth)

But the Kings have said they plan to resign him, and I support that..

The thing I've always heard about Dalembert is that he'll get blocks coming from the weak side but one-on-one he's poor and commits too many fouls. I don't know how much truth there is to that though

This has been smart fans in the Bulls forum wet dream for the past year...

It would be a miracle if Denver lets him go but I really am rooting for it to happen. It probably makes too much sense to happen in the NBA though.

In fact if he is somehow available for the MLE, I'd love the Lakers to sign him to back up Kobe or maybe even play PG in the triangle (defense, spot up shooting).

As for the Kirilenko to LA posts, I don't think he works for us at all. I think he needs to play PF to be effective and we already have that covered with Pau and Lamar.

He's a restricted free agent, so Denver can match any offer. I'm sure the Bulls would give him the full MLE, but I'd assume Denver matches that.

I think if the Bulls offered their full MLE then Denver might hold off. They're still probably one major player away from really competing in the play-offs so I'd think they'd want to save a bit of cash for that. It should be interesting to keep an eye on anyway.

I hope so (if the MLE is even still there). AA on the Bulls would make them the favorites in the East for the next several years in my opinion. Denver probably knows this though (or should), and probably would have dealt him to Chicago for draft picks if they weren't planning on matching at least the MLE.

Yeah that's a great point. It doesn't look like Chicago really has any assets it could afford to offer in a sign and trade which is a shame.

IMO hes a great one on one defender. A lot better than Spencer Hawes.

MLE money isn't really that much though. I'd be shocked if a MLE offer got him away from DEN.

He's definitely an upgrade over Hawes, I never really rated him.

I think for a team like Denver, $30,000,000 over five years is quite a high price but for someone like the Bulls who are ready to compete now it's much more feasible. I don't think you shell out that kind of cash to a role player unless you are ready to compete for the title - Afflalo is a finishing piece, not a starting piece.

People hoping for Dalembert must have not watched him play much. He has zero offensive IQ and his defense is overrated as well. A pairing with Amare or Bosh makes a really weak defensive frontcourt.
