By Overall I guess you mean the favorite so I would go with the Celtics overall and as a Sixers fan I would say they are the most dangerous team 5-8 because right now they are playing the best of those teams but the Knicks by the end of the year could easily be that team.

the only reaon why i said overall is b/c im sure most of the posters are gunna say new york in the 5-8 seed.....so i figured ppl can multivote in the poll and no disrespect to philly indiana or atlanta just figured most would say NY

Overall: Boston
5-8: Hawks.

I think they are somewhat underrated and could seriously take the Magic in a 4-5 series.

In no order:

NYC: when you combine Melo, Amare, and Billups that isn't going to be an easy out for anyone

PHI: Their coach preaches D, been playing pretty well lately

ATL: I still like their combo of size in frontcourt and the athletic players they can throw at you. The addition of KH should make their frontcourt even more effective defensively.

Overall: Heat

5-8: Knicks

I know the Heat are going through an extreme rough patch at the moment, but Bron and Wade are to good in the playoffs for them not to be deemed extremely dangerous. Boston are hella dangerous, but if the Heat play like they should do, I believe the playoffs will be a whole different kettle of fish.

Commence bashing comments from Bulls fans...

5-8 it is the Knicks clearly

Overall - I say Chicago only because Boston and Miami were the prohibitive favorites so they were supposed to do damage.

homer response..

but overall i'd take boston. they've been scary for years and will continue to be. as far as 5-8, i'd take the knicks. i'm not a homer, but seriously, with melo, billups and amar'e? come on now

In general, Boston is the most dangerous of the top 4, and NY for the bottom 4.

In order of what teams scare me the most (as a Heat fan):

Boston- Losing Perk eases my worries...a little bit. This team is still stupid deep, and very scary. X-factor? Rondo.
Chicago- The only other team that I feel poses a serious threat in a 7 game series. X-factor? Luol freaking Deng.
Orlando- We own Orlando IMO, which is why that 24pt blown lead was exceptionally disappointing for me. Only reason I have them this high is for the slight chance that their 3-pt shooters are on fire the whole series, in which case they're extremely tough to beat.
New York- They have the star power to add that allure and pressure to the series. Two hyped teams, all-stars galore, a rockin' MSG building....it's those type of factors that worry me about the Knicks, not the actual Knicks themselves. If the Heat have the mental toughness and general feeling of lostness in clutch situations that they're showing now, I could see us dropping this series by beating ourselves. I highly doubt this will be the case come playoff time, but it'd be sad. X-factor? Billups.
Atlanta- Jamal Crawford is the Heat-killer, Kirk Hinrich plays awesome D on Wade, and Horford is legit. This would be a fun series.
Indiana- since the dawn of time, Indy has always played well vs Miami.
Philly- Not much to be scared of here, aside from Iggy's awesome defense.

It's gotta be Boston, how could it not be Boston?

I think we match up well with them though, especially since Coach Thibs used to work for the Celtics, and our team reminds me of like a Celtics-lite version...

Well just looking at them compared to the 5-8 seeds. They knicks beat them recently and the sixers killed them the last time they played them. Both of those games were in Atlanta also. Atlanta is a good team but they aren't playing their best basketball lately and to me the class of the 5-8 seeds in the east are clearly NY and Philly considering NY's potential and the way the sixers have been playing.
