View Full Version : How long will Miami's losing streak be?

LJEATON26
03-08-2011, 01:20 AM
Right now they are at four straight losses and things look like they are falling apart at he seams. The upcoming schedule is far from easy. They are luckily at home but they have 7 straight playoff caliber teams coming up. Starts off tomorrow with the Trailblazers, the Lakers come in town Thursday, followed by Memphis, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, @ Atlanta then Denver. Then they get the Pistons.

well the Blazers are tired off a b2b, Heat are rested and highly motivated, eager to end their losing streak. They're too good to keep losing for long.

Probably tomorrow, but in the next 7 games vs tough teams I think they lose 2-3 more.

I'm a Blazers fan, and even I know that they'll lose to the Heat tomorrow. If Oden was in there and playing like he was before the most recent injury, I'd say Miami's streak would continue.

Miami is soft right now. They should been the most motivated team out the all star break. To think there anymore motivated now, makes no sense.

In my eyes, they looking real weak.

Vincent33
03-08-2011, 02:42 AM
I don't know how long this losing streak is going to last, but how long until Wade gets a play designed for HIM in the last possession of a close game?

I wonder if he is just feels a tiny bit of regret of luring James to his former town of Miami. Because from what I've seen, this is James' team and James' town now. You cannot have two true number ones on the same team especially when both are in their prime. Something's got to give and I can't see either guy giving in to the other.

It worked with Shaq and Kobe for a while b/c Kobe was still growing and not a number 1 guy, but once he finally reached that upper echelon, **** hit the fan...

It worked for Boston because all three guys were just passed their prime and were hungry for a title. It may work in New York because Amare had Nash in Phoenix, so he should be able to fit right back into his "Robin" role to Carmelo's Batman.

03-08-2011, 04:41 AM
I'm a Laker fan and they'll probably beat us on Thursday in my opinion. It's not that we're a worse team or anything like that, but we struggle against teams we rarely see for long periods of time in the regular season. Charlotte is a team we struggle with heavily, we can't really figure them out at all, whether Larry Brown or Paul Silas is coaching them. We haven't played Miami since Christmas, so it's been a while, and really among the elite teams out east, the only one we have a grasp about in what they do is Boston just cause we've seen them in the Finals twice now. If this was a playoff series I'd be confident cause we'd make adjustments with the time we're given. Kinda like the Magic two years back, when they swept us in the season series, but we ended up playing better in the Finals against them. I doubt that Phil or the team will have any time to go over much game tape with that game on Tuesday against Atlanta. But I'm fine with it, we gotta focus on the west in all truth before we meet anyone in the Finals, we'll first have to go through Dallas, San Antonio or maybe OKC. Once/if it comes to the Finals then the Lakers will be prepared.

Also, I think Miami really needs this game... like really bad. But for us, it doesn't really matter too much in all truth cause we aren't catching San Antonio and a far bigger game against the Mavs is on Sunday.

They sure as hell better win today, or they could be staring a 7 or 8 game losing streak dead in the face. The Lakers are the hottest team in the NBA, the Grizzlies are playing great ball, and San Antonio just shellacked the Heat a few days ago. This is about as close to a must win regular season game as there can be.

Losing streak? LOL, the only loss I see in last 4 games is the Spurs game. We had mental collapse in other 3, we weren't beat. The Bulls and the Refs won the last game, we blew a huge lead versus Knicks and Magic. If that's the type of wins other teams depend on against us, then I say good luck.

However, then they start a new 3-game losing streak against the Lakers, Memphis, and San Antonio. And then they might sneak in 2 wins against either ATL, DEN, or OKC.

last time the blazers played the heat it was in Portland and without Roy (he is back, obviously not 100%...blah blah blah)

Miami won , 107-100 in overtime on Jan. 9 in the Rose Garden behind 44 points from James. The Blazers have won the last three games in Miami. All-time, the Blazers lead 31-14, which includes a 17-5 advantage in Miami.

When you're under the scrutiny MIA is in, it's tough for even calm, cool, and collected guys like Wade to keep in touch with who they really are. I'm tellin you, as a Heat fan for many years, that he's just frustrated. They put it on themselves, yes, but even so, it's tough. I think this is good for them actually, because maybe it will make them more self aware of the target they have on their backs, and in turn respond to it in a positive manner via winning games, including the elite teams.

Next 5 games for Miami: Lakers, Memphis (who are playing very well), San Antonio, OKC, Atlanta. They'll have to dig out of this hole against a quality opponent to prevent the streak from hitting 10.

:laugh2: No, they didn't man. Wade was getting soft foul calls the first 3 quarters. It wasn't until the 4th that the refs quit with the touch foul on either Wade or James.

But they both only average 8+ free throws per game!!!!!!!

Yeah, Wade always acting like a ***** when he makes a tough shot. He runs down the floor... looks at the ref... and taps his forearm/wrist. Tell his *** to go into Rose's shoes and see how frustrated he gets... AND HE DOESN'T COMPLAIN ALL THE TIME!

i think you have to remember some of their winning streaks from this season.

one of those will crop up again before all is said and done -- they are all too talented not to -- and the nba is all about streaks

for a team like this -- their next win could come at any time against any team... the surprising thing is the losses -- mostly because of the ones where they gave up big leads. no one expected that. losing to an elite team with more experience and better balance -- sure. losing like they did to the spurs -- surprising.

i do hope the black mamba lights em up like he did in the all-star game -- but beware of the teams on streaks -- winning or losing -- anything can happen on any night in any quarter.
it might just be a particular team that gets them back with their heads on straight

the heat have a pretty brutal schedule coming up, with their next 6 games all featuring above 500 teams and includes two teams, memphis and denver, that have been playing good basketball lately. on top of that, san antonio, la, okc, and atl play them within this stretch. the heat have the opportunity to make up for their recent struggles during the next 6 games, but it wont be easy.

There is something mentally wrong in this locker room. I am not a Heat fan, in fact these last 5 games and the upcoming loss to the Lakers on Thursday have been and will be absolutely great / hilarious, but this team is not on the right page. I don't know if it is just them being cocky, but it seems to me that the lack of a true PG to run the show is why they suck at closing games off. When they get out and run no one can beat this team, unfortunately for the Heat, the good teams know how to operate out of a half court set, and slow the game down. The Heat can't win games playing that way, plus it's obvious that they have no depth past their 7th man. This team will be lucky to get out of the second round, and if they end up playing the Knicks in the first round, I wouldn;t be shocked to see them bounced in the 1st Rd. A healthy Billups who can slow down the game and hit clutch shots would spell doom for a team like the Heat who can make shots in close games down the strecth.

P.S. Last years Cavs Team will end up having a better record than the Heat this year. Proof that talent alone means nothing. LeBron should have stayed in Cleveland, and the Heat with Wade and Bosh would be a better team.

As a Laker fan IMO I think we'll probably lose on Thursday. I think Miami is gonna play every minute of that game as if it were game 7 of the Finals. It depends on how we match their energy, if we do then it'll be a good game for us, if not, then I don't know. Not only are they against the ropes with their losses but they're also looking at the Lakers like every other team as that measuring stick. So we'll see what goes down.

Trust me, man, they were saying the same thing about the Bulls-Heat game on Sunday. Everyone was saying Miami was gonna come out with energy, that they couldn't possibly lose this game. You shouldn't have a mindset like that right now. You're team is rolling and their not. The Lakers want revenge for what happened to them on Christmas. This will be a good game and if the Heat can win and close out the game, all of this will finally be gone. I'm sick of seeing all these Heat threads and ****. But like I said, remember... the Lakers have one of the great coaches in Phil Jackson and one of the great players in Kobe. They know Miami will come out firing on all cylinders... the Lakers just have to do the same.

Just like the Blazers fan who conceded a Heat victory over his team yesterday because the Heat are supposedly gonna be pissed and come out like freed convicts looking for vagina. Right now theres nothing that suggests they'll get their **** together against the better teams in the league. I expect a 20 point plus drubbing by the Lakers on Thursday. What is Lebron better than Kobe at?? We're mad because Lebron can run faster and jump higher??? Lebron isn't better than Kobe and I would bet my life Kobe could lead that Miami team to a championship better than Lebron could.

Kobe is still the better ball handler, better shooter, actually has a high and low post game that is beautiful to watch, a better touch around the basket, an actual midrange jumper, a better 3 pt shooter, better footwork, and Kobe is clearly the more clutch player. Kobe has more basketball skills and fundamentals then Lebron will ever have.

Kobe's game is just aesthetically beautiful to watch, while Lebron's is just one dimensional. Laker fans aren't mad about Kobe being better. We're thankful we have him on our team.

Hopefully they just keep on losing. Right now the bulls own the Heat's 1st pick, which would be 24 or 25. With Miami's upcoming schedule, and if ORL and OKC can get hot, that pick could drop down to 22 or 23. I know its not great, but its a possibly a decent piece the Bulls get and the Heat do not.

I don't expect the heat to continue struggling for too long, although the schedule may have something to do with it. I still remember the Christmas game, I was rooting for the lakers and they got their butts kicked by Miami. The Lakers are playing much better now while Miami is on the opposite side of the spectrum, so I'm not going to pick the heat to win. But, I wouldn't be surprised if they did win and perhaps started to turn things around with this game.

How many times have people said that, lol?

vs the Bulls "The Heat need a win, they're facing a tired Bulls team on a B2B, they want revenge, and they're ready to snap their losing streak. Heat will DESTROY the Bulls."

then vs the Blazers

"Heat will come out strong and prove to the world that they're good, this is a must-win game, Heat can't lose at home against a tired Blazers team on a b2b, Heat are angry that the media has been dogging them, Blazers have no chance."

You are going to get called a hater! Also, is sheen sexier than Mila kunis?

I am a hater of the Heat, more specifically Lebron. I root for nothing but the worst for them.

Mila is sexier, but Sheen's recent comments cannot be ignored. Plus, when I had the Mila sig no one would take my post seriously. They just quoted my posts and said nice sig. Now I know how girls feel when they say "he only likes me for my looks." :laugh2:
