I wouldn't be surprised if we did blow them out. We're going to have it switched on by the time the play-offs start and games like this are where we need to start.

Really wish I could watch this one :sad2:

we have one signature win against Boston in Boston this season. This one might be just as big, if not bigger based on the way SA is playing, AND the way they just blew out the Heat.

If there were such a thing as statement games that reverberate throughout the league, this would be the one.

I'm thinking we get raped tonight simply because the last game was such a heart breaker. I may be wrong.

I hope the Lakers take this. That would end the Spurs home win streak and would be a big win for the Lakers. Can't wait for the game to start.

Must win for us.

The Lakers will certainly play their best tonight so if they lose, I think it's safe to say the Lakers will certainly struggle against them in the playoffs if they were to meet and I certainly wouldn't want them to face San Antonio in a 7 game series..

Lets just get a win no matter how it's done.

Why are you that worried about the spurs in playoffs?

It's a must win tonight because of pride but even if we lose, there's no garantee for SA to beat us in playoffs, cause it's a whole different type of play in playoffs.

Bynum will be the key tonight,if he has the same activity he has since all star break, the spurs will feel it.

Because they are the better team and the best team in the league. There's no guarantee that the Lakers will just beat them because "it's the playoffs".. The Spurs are for real.

03-06-2011, 03:26 PM
The Lakers have to limit Parker's penetration and get out to the shooters, if they do this and take care of the ball, they will be fine. The Lakers also have to win the rebound battle.

Lakersfan2483
03-06-2011, 03:27 PM
We have to play inside out and allow Pau and Bynum to beat these guys up on the inside. Blair is undersized and Bynum has a huge size advantage over him. Dru and Pau have to go to work down low and win the battle in the paint!

Yes, they are and they will have homecourt over us in the playoffs, which is big. I still like our chances against any team in the west, however this year will be harder than the last 2 seasons as we will not have homecourt throughout and teams have improved. The Lakers have also played a ton of basketball over the last 3 seasons and that definitely cannot be overlooked.

Regular season my friend, this Spurs core is a lot different than the group who knew how to win in playoffs,Blair,Jefferson,Hill and co are young and nothing proves they'll be there when it counts.

Regular season means nothing, look to Dallas.

The problem for them is that for them to be successful they need to shoot from downtown. The positive for Lakers is that they do not need to double team any Spurs.

The best line so far is, "It's almost like the Heat sent their big brother..." Usually Mark Jackson doesn't do it for, but that was pretty funny.

Let's hope the Lakers keep up the defensive intensity until the end of the game. Good to see Barnes back.

Why would it be bad?

Overconfidence? I think like most of us around here. Phil is getting this team ready to run for the 4th tree-peat! Time to roll! I want the Miami and the Dallas games play with the same kind of balance. Blake is the only player that kind of worry me I saw the machine last night scored 25! I just hope that Blake all of the sudden turn it on.

The best line so far is, "It's almost like the Heat sent their big brother..." Usually Mark Jackson doesn't do it for, but that was pretty funny.

Let's hope the Lakers keep up the defensive intensity un

Just to clarify about the softness of Gasol. He is playing an awesome game, but at times his rebounding position and recovery loos weak. He complains to much instead of go back right at it. The moment that he can develop more strength he will be a total threat! On the other hand BYnum needs to work with Gasol and learn from him some of his moves and shooting ability. Bring back Abdul to help them!

Dwight Howard before this year. He used to get 8 or 9 attempts a lot of nights with Turk and Lewis.

As long as Bynum stays healthy he is a great piece on this team. He is also finally getting his legs under him since Phil took losses over pushing both he and Kobe too soon by reducing their minutes early in the year.

Artest has also been great since the deadline and he knows he won't be moved.

What is the best thing about Bynum playing well and Pau is that Lamar is still being aggressive over passive.

Spurs are going to have it rough because people are overlooking the Griz. They have a 3 headed terror or bigs as well in Zach, Marc, and Arthur (all thanks to the Pau trade) that will give Duncan a hard time.

81 to 52 after 3 quarters in San Antonio, before the start of this game, I thought LA would win in a close one. I never could have imagined the Lakers just completely dominating the Spurs like this? They have absolutely destroyed this team.

Duncan has 2 pts. Manu has 6 pts and Jefferson has 1 point. Three of their key starters have combined for 9ts. The Lakers' defense is the difference. They also executed on the offensive end!

It would be great if he was willing to do that, but very few players are. Its like having to do the dishes every night and not having a seat at the dinner table. If he continues to get 2-4 shots a night I could see him getting frustrated. Not to mention that he's a pretty darn good offensive option (highest % shooter on the team and a pretty good FT shooter). Keep the big guy happy and the sky is the limit.

He was on Mason and Ireland before the break and said he asked Phil for the role because he didn't have the lift in his legs like he wanted and his O was coming up short (Bobcat and Cavs game). He asked to be the clean up guy and last line of defense because that is what the team needed and how he felt he could best help with his current shape and leg strength.
