What are the best buzzer beaters you remember that, for whatever reason, didn't result in the team tying/winning the game. It could be that time ran out before he released the shot, or that he left enough time on the clock for the other team to hoist a miracle shot. My favorite example from this season had to be Amare's three against the Celtics that would have won it, but he released it like 2 tenths of a second too late. My favorite all time had to be Duncan's against the Lakers in '04. When you factor in degree of difficulty, that might be the greatest shot anyone has EVER taken, but then you throw in the fact that it was meant to be a buzzer beater, wow. For you newer fans who don't know what I'm talking about here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rmo4uFggxbE. I remember thinking at the time that I'd never seen such an incredible shot. Anyway, what were some of the other best buzzer beaters that weren't?

Brad Miller's game winner that was off by like a tenth of a second says the refs. Flip Murray's half court toss.

i remember i was at the heat celtics game last year where wade stole the ball from ray allen with 1 second left and made a layup to go up by 2, only to see the celtics tie the game on an alleyoop to rondo and then the heat lost in overtime.

I was at that game too. This is my answer. If he would've layed it up, it'd be game over.

lol well of course there is excuses on both occasions. the Spurs couldn't possibly lose without some kind of conspiracy going on...

gimme a break dude. Lakers won fair and square. stop crying.

For me, it has to be Vince Carter at the Buzzer against the 76ers in the conference semi's. If Carter makes the shot, it could of perhaps changed the history of the franchise forever. Vince likely never leaves Toronto if that shot falls.

I don't think any missed shot has changed the fortunes of a franchise more than this one.

It's not that the spurs can't lose without a conspiracy it's that the Lakers can't win without a conspiracy...

One of the greatest shots of all time for sure.

But, did anyone notice that TD traveled not once, but twice on that previous shot? He shuffled when he caught the ball and then when he finally pivoted on his left foot he picked it up before he put the ball down to dribble.

Ball don't lie I guess :)

If we're talking Lakers conspiracy theories the only one with any credence is Lakers-Kings in 2002. I believe to this day that game six was rigged. I was fine with both of the Spurs series, especially since neither was a do or die game, but I never thought either was too egregious, but in my eyes the Kings are the 2002 NBA champions.

That was one of the great untalked about playoff series of all times. Iverson and Vince trading 50 point games, Vince going to his graduation on the morning of game 7, then missing the buzzer beater, GREAT series.

Lebron didn't get his 3 off in time, the clock started late, we should've swept...
