havent heard Murphy has made up his mind. this is the latest ive seen saying Miami is front runner. But who knows with these god awful sources we here from anytime this ish goes down.

"The source also said Miami is the front-runner for Troy Murphy. The Heat will have to cut as many players as they sign, and the source said Carlos Arroyo and Jamaal Magloire are the likeliest candidates".

I Honestly dont understand what miami is doing or if any of this is true.

they have

chalmers
house
mike miller
halslem
big z.
j howard.

and they want to sign guys like bibby and murphy ? like how many role players does one team need ?

honestly all miami needs is some time to play together, signing every single free agent that is available doesnt help chemistry or anything really.

Bibby/House/Wade
Wade/Miller
Lebron/Jones
Bosh/Haslem
Murphy/Z/Dampier

The question of Spolstra's job is will he be smart enough to keep Joel on the bench.

Bibby would be the best PG on that team, and its not even close. Troy Murphy would also be the best big man on that team.

murphy is not a center

exactly, Murphy also provides outside shooting from a big which is crucial. Miami is just trying to upgrade whereever they can for cheap. Cant go wrong with Murphy and Bibby for the price they will pay. That is if either even signs with the heat

He could probably play center better than any of the centers currently on the Heat roster. not even saying he would play center but just pointing out the heat centers arent exactly ballers.

Murphy was averaging 15 and 10 just last year.

Murphy, if he rebounds, could be Miami's answer. Mike Bibby is a nice spot up shooter, but they need rebounding.

lol On topic, Murphy is a stretch 4 which is a good thing for Miami, but I like him more for his rebounding, which has been deplorable for the last few games, even against the Knicks who started Shawne freaking Williams at the 4.

With the Celtics idiotic move last week and these two going to South Beach, The Heat have just became the favorites to win it all imo..........

Great moves by the Heat, if they happen of course.

IMO what hurts the heat is they go ISO too much. i dont know how adding another shooter helps them if the big three keep playing one on one.

I think if the other players knock the shots down, they will pass them the ball more. House and Jones have gone ice cold as of late and as a result are losing touches. But they do need to cut down on the iso late in games by a lot.

You are correct but the reason it ends up as an iso instead of a kickout is cause there not making open shots so the defense isnt kept honest and the person isoing is double/triple teamed in the paint now having more consistent help would keep the defense honest and it would have to be a iso anymore or at least not one as hard.

thats the problem though. shooters need to shoot the ball to get their rhythm and if they arent getting the ball enough, how do you expect them to get their shot down?

One thing's for sure. I will explode if I see LeBron take another game-tying three attempt. He needs to set up Miller and House for those shots. It won us a game @OKC, so we need to get back to that. Iso's will not win in the playoffs.
