View Full Version : Nuggets or the Knicks....who goes deeper in the playoffs?

02-25-2011, 11:21 PM
I am going with the Nuggets to shock the world a bit and make a good run in the playoffs going further than the Knicks.

02-25-2011, 11:22 PM
Both out in first round.

Both out in the 1st possibly but I think the Nuggets win more games in the playoffs due to the fact they actually play d and got rid of their worst defender.

both first round exits if nuggets even make it.

and this.

I'll say this:
The Nuggets will NOT win a playoff series.

The Knicks MAY win one series.

surprised nobody thus far really sees the Nuggets as a threat

I like the Knicks chances better.

02-25-2011, 11:59 PM
Nuggets!!!! They might might get the 5th seed and they can give Thunder a run for their money if luck goes there way

Knicks will have to play Bulls or Heat

02-25-2011, 11:59 PM
Both will lose in the 1st round so does it really matter... I know its only been two games, but dam the Knicks are bad on D, and they can't rebound worth a dam....That's why they lost to the cavs cuz they gave up like 20 o boards...

02-25-2011, 11:59 PM
Whats the point of this thread but to get a lot of hate and trolls to start something. Neither making out of the 1st round. /thread

Both out in first round.

I think it could be this?

02-26-2011, 12:10 AM
third option: none

02-26-2011, 12:15 AM
probably neither. but if i had to pick one I would say knicks can upset in the first round.

02-26-2011, 12:17 AM
Nuggets have a lesser chance of making it out of the first round because they will have to face a tougher first round opponent unless they get the 5th or 4th spot. However i won't be surprised at all if they can because of how deep they are despite how young they are.

02-26-2011, 12:21 AM
Tough question. I really like the new-look Nuggets, as I feel like their competitive and they actually play some good defense. The Knicks, obviously, have some serious star talent, but their defense so far is sub-par (that's stretching it). Depends on the opponent I guess. If the Nuggets get the Mavericks or something, they might have a shot (purely based on Dallas' playoff performancs). And the Knicks will get a tough series either way unless they get the five seed.

I'll go with the safe pick, the Knicks.

02-26-2011, 12:24 AM
i'll take denver.

02-26-2011, 12:25 AM
Both out in first round.

Knicks have D'Antoni at the helm. I just don't know.

BTW, this is practically a brand new team on the court for the Knicks.

If they'd have a pre-season at least, they'd mesh well, but the Knicks were GUTTED.

Not one useful player was really left aside for Fields (and obviously Amare).

So, adding in that this is practically a brand new team, I see it having the same problem that the Heat had at the beginning of the season: finding a way to win with only those 3 guys (Stat/Melo/Billups). They don't have anyone else that is a guarantee to get points.

The knicks, at the end of the day, had 4 guys that they just traded that DID in fact give them stats, just that one day it was Gallo and Felton, others Felton and Chandler, and on rare occasions, Gallo and Chandler.

The Knicks NEEDED 3 of the players to function and win (Amare, and usually Felton and Chanlder). that allowed players like Toney, Fields, and Gallo's production to be bonuses. If one or both of Felton/Chandler faultered, they usually lost.

Now, they don't NEED 3 guys to function to give what felton and chandler gave (inconsistently). They only need 2...but .....lets just say they're too thin.

Their style of play demands 25 3 pointers and they now don't have the players to do that.

WIlliams, Billups, and Toney are the anchors of that. Not good. Before they had WIlliams, Toney, Gallo, Chandler, and Felton. For D'Antoni's crummy system, they need more.

Our holes have also gotten worse.
-We needed a backup PG...and well, now we put in a better PG but he can't play 39 minutes (which was still absurd with Felton).
-We needed size, and even though we had it with Mozgov, Turiaf, and Randolph, D'anotni did't use it effectively and now has NONE.

So, we made two of our BIG holes even bigger and created a few more because now we don't have enough 3 point shooters.

So to finish off the answer to the question, I believe that NY will get further IF they make the playoffs. (remember, they made a trade that most rational people knew was a trade for the future because of how they gutted their roster and made whatever holes they had even bigger).

DEN can win a series vs. New Orleans or Phoenix if that happened but I have no faith in the Knicks and their defense, especially after giving up 115 to the CAVS

This thread was made because we lost to the cavs.

Nuggets won't make teh playoffs. So the Knicks will go farther because they'll be in them.

In other news, the Thunder lost their game against the Magic adn will now not win a game the rest of the season and plummet the rankings.

Knicks and Nuggets get in but both lose first round
