View Full Version : Chris Bosh: 1/18 FG in loss to Bulls

How is it possible that an all-star caliber of Chris Bosh, the 3rd option on the Miami Heat, takes 18 field goal attempts, and hits only one?

Was it the Bulls defense (Boozer), or did Bosh just shoot himself out of this game?

I am in shock.

You should know as a Kobe fan that good players can just have terrible shooting nights. Bulls have a good D too and couple that with a bad day and you get that result.

Please . It was Bosh's terrible shooting that caused his terrible shooting. The defense wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing by any means. Bosh missed at least 10-12 open 15-18ft jumpshhots that he usually gets his points from. He also missed about 4 or 5 easy layups/shots in the paint. Overall, he just had a terrible game. I am sure Kobe along with every player ever to play in the NBA has had a clunker like this.

He really wasn't forcing anything though, or I don't remember him forcing much. They were just mainly lightly contested jump shots right in front of the 3 point line. It's hard to tell a star not to take those shots.

He just had a bad night man. Coming from TOR I don't know much about their rivalry match ups but, the heat and Bulls are always intense and it might have got to him a bit. Either way nothing you can do about it if you are Bosh except forget about it and go on and play better basketball.

I'm a Heat fan and this is definitely thread worthy. That was a laughable performance. I'm not even mad, to be honest. Sometimes you have one of those nights and nothing goes in--shots that are halfway down rim out, others bounce around the rim and fall out. Other nights you can't miss--wild a ss prayer shots that have no business going in fall through the net like a hot knife through butter. It's just the nature of the game.

But if it's historic, it's thread-worthy.

Bosh relies on his jumper too much, and when its not falling its a sign of bad thing to come. We have the same situation with Pau, but once in a while his balls drop and attacks the rim... with a layup

Having a jump shot game in the playoffs is going to be really frustrating as the pressure and defense is way better.

Professionals should never go 1-18.
42 minutes. 7 points. 9 boards. 17 missed shots. and 1 assist. Your teammates are Lebron and Wade. Also you lost to the team that is trying to catch up to you in the standings by 4 points. You deserve to hear some ****ing ****, ESPECIALLY on the internet.

These numbers are bad for a girl's middle school game. The fact that an all star calber player did this for one of the most formidable teams in the league definitely makes this thread worthy.

The irony of all of it was the one time Bosh got aggressive (right after his sissy flop) he made a beautiful move taking it right at Noah and hit what would be his only field goal of the night.

Don't know why he refused to go inside more - maybe he was scared of Asik after last game. I'd like to think his performace was karma for that flop. Good player - could be great if he had a stronger killer instinct.

I'm no Miami fan by any means but everyone is being ridiculous with the general bashing of Bosh's skills. Every team in the NBA wanted him after James and Wade including the Bulls and Knicks. Amare and Boozer were consolation prizes after they couldn't get Bosh. Let's stop with the revisionist crap.

Bosh can ball, just had an off night. It was really his approach that hurt him though. For some reason, he kept shooting instead of taking it inside despite his struggles.

Bears I agree but no one was saying this stuff over the summer.

True. Bosh is still good, but it's easy to dump on him since he is kind of a d bag...."too much work, not enough chill", "don't dive for a loose ball near my legs", media whore....that being sai, I wanted him for the Bulls this summer, glad with Booz, but I did want Bosh I thought he would kill with Rose on the pick and pop

He was defended by Noah for most of the game.

JB0B0
02-25-2011, 01:32 AM
Bosh was more valuable than Amare and Boozer because:

1. He's 26. Booz is 29 and Amare 28
2. He hasn't had any significant injuries like Amare and Boozer have
3. He was the go to guy in Toronto and therefore looked a lot better than he really is, although he's still an elite player (just not a superstar like people had thought).

How is it possible that an all-star caliber of Chris Bosh, the 3rd option on the Miami Heat, takes 18 field goal attempts, and hits only one?

Was it the Bulls defense (Boozer), or did Bosh just shoot himself out of this game?

I am in shock.

Noah was probably on bosh ( didnt watch the game, in which yes defense might have slowed him down, but if it was boozer, Bosh must have gotten something in his eye, becuase boozers d isnt anything to make somebody shoot that bad.

I wonder if it seems logical to trade away Bosh for some better pieces to fit around wade and lbj.

Bench is horrible and they have no help. If they are 1-8 against elite teams then that means they are not getting out of the 2nd round.

Bosh has value and could be traded for two solid players if they become available.

I agree with this. If Bosh passes a few of these shots to Wade and Bron, the game maybe completely different.

That may be true, but he had to shoot, he was wide open on most of his jumpers. The only thing that I saw that he could have done was to put the ball on the ground and take it to the hole after he missed 5 or 6 in a row. Instead he kept shooting.

as a huge basketball fan, I hate to see chuckers who are having an off night and STILL shoot the ball rather than pass it to another player. I'm not saying Bosh is a chucker because IMO he is not, but last night, he shouldn't have shot the ball 18 times. Especially near the end of the game. Their were a few plays in which I thought Bosh should've passed it to either Lebron or Wade rather than shoot the ball.

It's one bad game, everyone has an off night every now and then. Kobe, gasol, Bynum, fisher, artest, Lebron, wade, Jordan, pippen, EVERYONE has a terrible game at least once in a lifetime. No big deal. Bosh was missing mid range and elbow shots that he usually makes.
