Hinrich is way better than an aged Bibby

And he brings defense to that offense stacked team

The Wizards will also be trading center/forward Hilton Armstrong to the Hawks for forward Mo Evans.

He's more of a PF, and Smith is more of a SF

 So happy to have Kirk Hinrich on my Hawks. His defense is going to be great for us and will reduce our need for a center now that Josh and Al don't have to worry about making up for Bibby's defensive faults and can focus on their man.

Horford = 2 time All-star at CENTER.

No need for center.

This team will be alot better now since our weakness was PG defense (PG's driving in which Smith and Horford would have to pick them up and then the team gets burned). Fisher had the 1st 6 points of the game last night against us for example.

So glad we got Hinrich.

Also, I see us maybe moving Marvin as well.

I love Jordan Crawford, but I am shocked that Washington was essentially willing to swap Hinrich for Bibby and a 1st round draft pick.

You all might think Hawks is overrated but finally we get a defensive PG with more PG skills on the offense than Bibby now has. This will get the offense moving and no longer will PGs have their way down in the paint. So we pretty much upgraded the PG position, and have been rock solid at SG, PF, C(Horford), and 6th man.

Until we see the Magic in the playoffs. Howard will destroy Horford(like he did last year).

I don't see what the Wizards get out of this trade other than a late first and a pg that's pretty much done?

Regular season is much different than the Play-offs, but Collins has handled Howard as good as anyone this season in our meetings with them. Now with Kirk we won't have to worry about Jameer Nelson running circles around Bibby doing what he pleases.

Is Hilton Armstrong any good? Never seen him play. Regardless, Hinrich is a clear improvement over Bibby.

Anyone else like the potential of a crawford/wall combo? Mostly potential at this point on crawfords side though

*Silver&Black*
02-23-2011, 10:20 PM
PG D and spreading the O out is our weakness. Howard is 1 man on 1 team. Horford can play fine against the other teams. Like bmac said, Nelson wouldn't be playing like an all-star anymore against us, so Horford can just focus on 1 guy.

^ We already matched up well against the Heat. Think about it:

Joe Johnson - Wade
Smith - Lebron
Horford - Bosh

Now we have Hinrich (who is Heat's PG?) and Crawford as 6th man. Who is going to take on them?

We don't have to worry about Rondo, Rose and Nelson anymore driving all game long. This should be fun. Hawks on national t.v. Sunday against Blazers. Can't wait.

Wizards get a cheap prospect in Crawford, a healthy(I believe) PG since Hinrich has been out for awhile and a first round pick.

If im not mistaken, I believe that is the third first round pick the Wizards will have this year. With almost a guarenteed top 5 pick, along with two lower picks, the Wizards could possibly trade up to get someone like Barnes.

Isn't Tito Horford begging the Hawks to get a Center so Al can stop taking such a beating ?

Hawks have a lot of talent. Great team play can take them far in the playoffs. The East just keeps getting more exciting.

Good trade for both teams, the Wizards don't need a starter quality pg and Bibby should suffice as a back-up, 9 million is too steep for a back-up pg.

The Wizards are making all the right moves. Young talent and a plethora of picks to surround John Wall.

I also think Kirk Hinrich's defense is being a little overrated by some of you guys. Someone mentioned not having to worry about Nelson, Rondo, etc... lol. That had to be a joke.

Yeah I would have no idea. It's not like I live in Maryland and see the Wizards games locally televised every other night. Not to mention the fact that I witnessed Gilbert Arenas abuse Hinrich and the Bulls in the 04-05 playoffs.

Hinrich is a good defender but like I said most of you are getting carried away.
Hinrich isn't going to shut all the top point guards down by himself and the Hawks are still no where near competing for the finals.

If the wiz buy out Bibby's contract, you should hope Miami's all over that. He would be a great asset to a contending team, especially one that has inexperienced point guards like young Chalmers.
