Heard a rumor that the owners are trying to get David Stern to step down as commissioner. They're not happy that players are picking where they want to play. They think that Stern is turning the blind eye to issues like the LeBron and Melo saga?
Thoughts? News? Anything?

I say fire him, get rid of the power of the commisioner's office and put it all in the nba owners hands. Each owner can set his own rules for games hosted there. Say in Phoenix they go by regular rules but in Milwaukee halfcourt shots are worth 5 points, 10 min quarters, and 10 personal fouls allowed per game. That'd be fun!

I recall him publicly speaking out against the Melodrama and the Dwight Howard talk last week. That's not exactly turning a blind eye, though it's not changing the situation at all.

Anyone who thinks nothing can be done...how about franchise tags, restricted free agency, etc.

I'm in favor of something like the baseball system. Free agents can be classified as a type A or type B, and if another team signs that player they have to send back a draft pick (or picks).

I agree with this. Supplemental picks as well just like in baseball. That way, for example, the Cavs would have gotten the Heat's first round pick and also gotten a supplemental pick between first and second round to get even more talent. If this system were to take place though I'm pretty sure it would be the end of trading draft picks.

Stern also wanted game 7 in the 2002 kings lakers series because of the ratings and revenue it would generate. So we all saw what happened in game 6 to force that game 7... Stern.

Just make it like Hockey if you sign a star player from another team you get 5 first round picks from that team . That will stop teams from signing more than one at least .

If you think this is David Stern's fault...well, it's just not.

This next collective bargaining agreement should be interesting. I bet a ton of money that their will be a franchise tag or a hard(er) cap implemented...I hope for both.

Heard on a Cleveland talk show from Andre Knott. Said owners may try to push David Stern out. They think David Stern is part of the problem. He mentioned that if Carmelo was trying to get out New York to go to Indiana, do you think David Stern would've stepped in to stop it?
