The Warriors and Nets are close to finalizing a multi-player trade, according to sources.

Golden State will send Dan Gadzuric and Brandan Wright to New Jersey for Troy Murphy and a 2012 second round pick.

Murphy is expected to be bought out by the Warriors and he would then become a free agent after clearing waivers.

While the Nets and Warriors appear to be firm trade partners, there are discussions that the deal could expand to a three-team deal involving Devin Harris.

The Blazers and Mavericks are the two most likely destinations for Harris.

Murphy is solid. I thought Boston/Miami was gonna make a move for him. That was the rumor a couple days ago. Murphy would be a nice fit for either one of those teams. He's a good solid player.

Miami should look at him... well maybe not, I mean he's a good rebounder but not so great defensively. He'd basically be a backup to Bosh.

Murphy is a good player, he was really good in Indiana

He just needs a new start and that bad contract

Plus when Warriors buy him out, a lot of teams will be calling him

The Mavs will only offer Caron Butler's expiring contract to the Nets for PG Devin Harris, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
This could change, of course, but it signals that they're only interested in a handout here. And while anything can happen and Harris has a strong chance of being traded, it would be surprising for the Nets to essentially dump him for an expiring contract. This would make the Portland trade the current favorite in the Harris sweepstakes, and while we're reading the tea leaves it hurts Jordan Farmar's chances of hitting it big.

Maybe 3rd team will be Portland in this deal.

Looks like Murphy will be traded and then bought out. Heat, Celtics, Magic, and Mavs are all possible destinations.

Hope LA calls him up. Please be right for once Bucher about LA being interested in him. He would be a nice backup to Pau and LO when Bynum inevitably goes down

New York would also make sense with him starting at C. He can even keep his current home

The Spurs should be all over him as well.

We should just keep Murphy and flip him to a contender for another 2nd rounder.

I don't know if we really need Murphy. I'll take him, but with Udonis coming back in a month how many minutes wil he get.

We could use him right now though.

Why would the Warriors want to buyout Murphy when they are going to trade 2 bench players? You would think that they would need him to play considering their bench SUCKS

- 2 guys they are trading don't play because they can't beat out Vlad Rad of all people for a big man role
- They get cap space and likely won't have to use the majority of their own cash to buy him out

Too big of a contract - contenders can't afford him (and wouldn't want to). If he's bought out, he'd be practically free for them.

It could turn out in a situation like Peja earlier this year. Raptors bought out his contract so he could sign with the Mavs, and the Mavs sent a player their way in a separate trade to circumvent the salary matching that you have to do in trades.
