Was it just for the chance to get the Unproven Anthony randolph.

Don't get me wrong I like giving Randolpph a chance I just cant wrap my head around helping facilitate this trade and taking on Curry's salary.

The Knicks payed us 3m so we can cut him for cap room

They didn't. Taking it on was the cost of swapping Brewer for Randolph. It's expiring, and they're likely to buy it out, so it doesn't have any effect on their roster or next year's cap - it's just that they decided paying that $11m or whatever it is was worth it for Randolph.

They could also swing it to someone else who wants an expiring, I suppose. You never know with the TWolves.

Also, I don't think the Brewer/Randolph salaries worked without it. NYK were taking back too much, cause Brewer earns more.

Man, it'd be great if Eddy Curry could resurrect his career a la Darko.

Ain't happening but it would be cool.

I was under the impression that the Nuggets were getting the 3 Mill. I guess that makes a little more sense.

It's an expiring.

And also Knicks needed space for the Melo trade to work, so they traded Randolph and Curry for Brewer.

I think NYK sent 3m to each of Den, Minn. The 3m limit is for how much you can receive, but you can send out as much as you like, making it legal.

This, it was pretty much even deal for Minny financially, they got Randolph whom is still on a relatively cheap rookie deal the next 2 yrs i believe and they trade away Brewer(a great pickup as a defensive stopper) who didnt fit in their future plans. Decent deal for Minny.

So the Wolves have all centers, power forwards, and point guards?

Wesley Johnson is a very good young talent, and they have Beasley. Solid players at SG and SF. Don't know much about their back ups, however.

Wolves did it to find out how low Randolph and Curry could drop the teams total IQ score.

He's expiring after this year, they shed Koufos salary for next season, netted $3 million, may be able to buy Curry out for less than what he is currently owed this season, and they were going to let Brewer walk after this season.

So why not do it?

They essentially swapped Randolph for Koufos next season...By exchanging Brewer for Curry + $3 million. Not a terrible gamble...

And it was basically doing Donnie a favor. Sometimes a favor here and there are worth doing in GM circles.

And i still havent given up on AR. he just hasnt had the right coach yet.
