If the Warriors can't find their coveted center upgrade at the trade deadline or in the draft, they would consider injury risks Greg Oden or Yao Ming at a discounted rate in the offseason."When you're looking at what you can do to get better, you have to consider the possibility of what an injured player today might be able to do when he returns," said general manager Larry Riley, who can't name players under contract with other teams. "A lot has been done down that road, and more will be done."Oden, who has had microfracture surgery on each knee, has played only 82 games in 3 1/2 seasons since being the No. 1 overall pick in 2007. He has averaged 9.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks a game, and he will become a restricted free agent this summer.Yao has played more than 57 games in a season only once in the past six, including playing only five games over the past two seasons because of foot and leg injuries. He will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and his 19.7-point, 9.9-rebound, 2.0-block season of 2008-09 wasn't that long ago."It's not a secret. We have either got to get the players we have to play better in and around the basket, or we have to get somebody else," Riley said. "That's really where we are, so I might as well say it." http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=%2Fc%2Fa%2F2011%2F02%2F21%2FSPPG1HR3 GS.DTL

Well, if they could get Oden for coins then they should go for it. Hes still young and if he could put his injuries behind he would be useful.

On the other hand, i believe Yao is a lost cause and he's career is over. Still i hope yao proves me wrong

The Heat should get Ming or Oden and bench them the whole regular season. Only put them into playoff games.

Ming + San fran area = brilliant MONEY MAKING idea , pity he cant contribute on the cort.

If they want a center why not try to offer sign and trades for Perkins or Marc Gasol in the offseason?

If they are cheap, the reward outwieghs the risk.

the warriors need new management there are many big men in this draft that can be developed dont go for injured players especially not yao hes obviously to tall and his legs will never hold up on the court.

Who the **** else should the Heat get? I swear since the beginning of this season any player considering free agency, there has been a Heat fan saying he should sign with them.

Why would Yao want to go there? Doesn't he want a ring? Ride the Lakers, Heat or Celtics bench.

I would give up Greg Oden and Elliott Williams for Andris Biedrins.

They would love Yao in the Bay, they have a huge/enthuastic asian sport fan base. Just look at Jeremy Lin, the dude barley even plays and they love him up there.

I think it's a good move for the francise. Imagne if one of those injured bigs pan out and stays healthy? They'd be a playoff team (depending on who they give up to get them).

sorry guys but no way they get oden on the cheap, blazers president larry miller said months ago they plan on giving the qualifying offer of almost 9mil to oden so they would have to offer alot and with paul allen you never know he may match anyway.

Yao is perfect for the Warriors from a marketing stand point. I mean you have to start somewhere right? With players like Monta Ellis giving the Warriors a bad reputation, you have to try anything!

Unfortunately the Warriors are now giving the Clippers a run for their money as an exercise in futility.

If a team could get one of them for a cheap deal then it would be a low risk/high reward move that could pan out for them

oden was said to be the next bill russell. if you can get a potential bill russell for 500k/ year, and you give a new medical/ strengh and conditioning staff a chance with him, you could have nothing short of the best transaction in the history of sports.

Oden is not going to be available for 500k/yr. Larry Miller and Rich Cho have already made it clear that they will offer Oden a qualifying offer. Oden will have a 8 million contract on the table for next year and I fully expect Paul Allen to match any offer. Portland has already invested way to much capital in Greg to let him go. My guess he leaves the NBA as a blazer.

people hate on Monta because they think he's the new Jerry Stackhouse.....

Whoever signs Bob Sanders should consider that strategy in the NFL

dont work in their system, oden and yao needs to be with slower paced teams, go to spurs, for sure, they will contend every year
