and soon. like, next season soon

The Sacramento Kings are seriously exploring the possibility of applying to the NBA by the league's March 1 deadline for relocation to Anaheim for next season, according to sources with knowledge of the team's thinking.

The Kings haven't made a final decision, but sources said team officials have been in Orange County, Calif., this month to gather more first-hand data on the feasibility and potential obstacles involved in trying to move to Anaheim's Honda Center at season's end after a 26-season run in Sacramento and numerous failed attempts to secure the financing needed for the construction of a new modern arena.

NBA commissioner David Stern publicly confirmed for the first time Saturday night at his annual All-Star Weekend news conference that the Kings have had discussions with Anaheim officials about a possible move.

Why do we need another team down south?? Not only am I saying this as a Sac fan but as a basketball fan too?? I mean, who else thinks there's room for another NBA team down there??

If this happens, the Maloofs can suck it, cause not only were they liars, they proved that they're about the money and never cared about this city at all.

I feel bad for the Kings fans, when you move to another city your records and past are on hold and don't transfer to the new city

Sac Town used to be soooo good and positive, they just need a new arena in SACRAMENTO!!!! Not Anaheim

Only moves i would find acceptable for Kings is to move back to KANSASCITY or OMAHA or to Rochester/cincinatti and be back to being the Royals.

Enough with the relocating hisotirc franchises.

And definetly L.A area does NOT need 3 teams.

Idk if you can blame the Maloofs bro. They been trying to get an Arena For 10 years and nothing has progressed. They want to stay here but theres only so much you can do especially in down times. I know how you feel though. I will be heartbroken if and when this happens. All my life I grew up watching the Kings. Idk how I can be a fan after this to be honest. I thinks theres still a glimmer of hope left.

All I have to say is..

HOW DARE YOU not talk about about The Denver wanting to trade their star player situation! Such audacity! Today's youth = going down the drain.

Kings to another major state? big whoop.

j/k

and this is "on topic" since I did speak of the Kings situation.

fold the team...the league is so watered down throw in memphis, okc, new orleans, and golden state that should spread the talent around.

They would have to change their name. 2 teams within 30 miles of each other with the same name? (NHL/NBA Kings)

Frrrrank!!!

Sucks. Sacramento's people support their team with so much love and energy. Would be really sad, to see them moving the Kings. Those people there deserve a competitive basketball-team and not a relocation !

I wonder if LA/OC can support 3 NBA teams; it's just too many.

Plus Sacramento has royal fans, why would Kings organization want to move?

Everyone I know would be devastated if this were to happen. Everyone wants a new stadium but we just don't want to get taxed a lot for this new stadium. Add to the fact that the Maloofs aren't in the greatest situation with the casinos and this doesn't look good. I hope there's an alternative.
