Why the facepalms? It's a completely meaningless exhibition game. Just look it as a lifetime achievement award and move on.

I'M SO UPSET THE ALL STAR GAME MEANS SO MUCH OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

*****, please. He probably won't play more than 2 minutes before getting pulled for someone else. It's just to keep the starting streak going.

x2.

Cut out the idiotic face palms. You can ask every player on both all star rosters and they'll agree that Duncan is deserving of the start. He's been nothing but a legend and class for the NBA for over a decade.

I do think he was the least deserving all-star that will be playing...but then again, it is Tim Duncan, and there are not a ton of great centers in the NBA right now. He can play center better than the rest of the all-stars the West has IMO.

How can you be mad at Duncan starting??? Blake is a rookie. He should be happy to be there. Love was a replacement. Duncan is a good choice if u ask me

Not only is Blake a rookie, but he isn't capable of playing the 5, and he hasn't really willed his team to all that much of a better record than they had without him last year  Both he and Love are the definition of stat-stuffers who don't make their teams all that much better. Tim Duncan doesn't stat-stuff any more, but he makes his team far more better.

Duncan should be the starting center looking at that roster.

Duncan is the best Center in the West.

Duncan IS a Center you know. I love how people think 6'6" DeJuan Blair is the Spurs starting Center. :laugh2:

Bunch of horse crap, he better play minimal minutes and give Griffen his time to shine

why is there facepalms for this. each player is going to get there playing time but duncan is the veteran which means he is going to get the start over griffen and love not to mention that having his coach on the squad helps out.

Not to mention it was not duncan vs love or griffin.

If Duncan didnt start GASOL would.
They are the Centers of the roster.

anybody who thinks this is dumb is an very wrong. Duncan deserves to start much more than Griffin or Love. Even tho Love deserved to be originally on the roster, he was a replacement, and Griffin is a rookie and IMO is VERY lucky to be there. The only other person that needed to even be considered is Gasol, and Duncan will play the first 2 min. get pulled and sit for like the rest of the half. Duncan will get like 8-10 min. in the entire game. Period. Also  x10 to the guy that said Duncan needs to play minimal minutes and give Griffin time to shine, Griffin is a rookie and is lucky to be there....

Having a good laugh at the people who think it's ridiculous that Love or Griffin isn't starting over Duncan. Griffin - being that it's in LA - and he's a true showcase talent - fine, but that is not enough to warrant a "facepalm" of any kind. Pathetic to see that, to be honest. This isn't Shaq - he's no dinosaur.

Who cares. If anything Pops would be risking injury by starting and giving him big minutes so I doubt he plays over 5-10 minutes anyways.

I called it.

But lol at Hellcrooner for getting so mad.

The guy will play like 10 mins total. Relax people. I wouldn't be surprised if he retires this year if there is a lockout. So honour the best PF in history and just let him start a game that is meant to be fun.

Love was gonna start over Duncan and he's leaps and bounds better than Duncan this year.

Besides Duncan is a traditional PF thats moved over to help is undersized teammate.

So since he's not the best player on his team means he doesn't deserve to be in the all star game? If that's the case, why is your very own pau gasol on the all star team? "He's not even the best on his team!"
