View Full Version : "Nets renew talks for Carmelo" story is complete fabrication and/or Nuggets ploy

Complete BS. No credible report that negotiations are occurring.
Even the report that Denver "called" NJ is dubious... although Denver
is probably calling every team in the league every day at this point.

But this is clearly another BOGUS story and it is also clear that Denver is
creating these stories by leaking bogus info to the media, and it is being
reported as hard news. Denver has really gone over the edge at this point,
panicking, lying, freaking out and doing anything just to gain some leverage
and another player or two from the Knicks--who hopefully will just wait 30
games till Carmelo goes free agent.

Yahoo! Sports first reported today that the Denver Nuggets contacted the Nets more than a week ago to re-engage them in discussions to acquire the All-Star forward, and a person with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed the teams are indeed talking. That person requested anonymity because the talks between the teams are confidential.

Since that time, Denver has talked to other teams about dealing for Anthony, including Chicago and the Knicks. But the Nets, who can offer multiple first-round draft picks — something no other team can do — always seemed like the best match for the Nuggets. According to the Yahoo! report, the teams are believed to be working on a scaled-down deal, much smaller than the proposal with Detroit, which involved more than a dozen players.

yeah, wake me up when the big "Denver to New Jersey deal" goes through, ok?

I'm not sure why this thread was opened because it is pure speculation with no legit source.
