every year its someone knew, last year amar'e, this year melo, but has anyone ever been traded during all star weekend that was playing in the game?

good question, i was wondering this as well...what team would they play for if they were traded to a diferent conference...melo was voted to play for the west, but if he were traded to the knicks, it would be confusing.

I don't think its ever happen that I can remember. I think they put the trade deadline after allstar break for that exact reason. Even if teams did have a deal in the works they'd probably just wait til allstar weekend was over to complete it....

JKidd was a few days after the 2008 game. NBCSports says this about Melo:


Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets, forward): He is ninth in the league in scoring. But lets answer your next question — if he is traded before the All-Star game he would not start for the East but could be added to their roster by David Stern, who also would choose his Western replacement.
