My friend told me that Pittsburgh may possibly get an NBA team. He said that possibly the Pistons may be coming to town.

NO IDEA IF THIS IS TRUE.

Can someone let me know whats going on?

Can someone let me know whats going on?Your friend is full of ****. I cannot see the Pistons, as bad as they are now, moving to Pittsburgh when they play in one of the best arenas in the NBA. If there is any team I see going to PIT, it will be the Clippers to get of the Lakers' massive shadow.

I think he's making **** up. I haven't heard anything about it, and there isn't anything on the internet either.

And Detroit would not be the team to go.

There was some hope after the Consol Energy Center was finished, but I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon at all.

I don't know how successful the NBA would be here in all honesty.

Bingo.

Plus Pitt basketball is well supported and succesful.

Pitt is a great sports town other then the Pirates.

I was pretty excited because I have been saying it'd be nice to have one and he told me I might be right. and he said Detroit as the team most likely

The ONLY place the team will possibly move to is Detroit. Otherwise they are staying in Auburn Hills.

Yeah. Detroit is not going anywhere.

I think the Hornets, Pacers or Grizz would be the first to move. I have nothing to support that...I'm just guessing. Maybe the Kings too...but not Detroit.

Id say hornets, pacers, kings, or even 76ers just because they are already in pennsylvania and have very low home attendance.

Not happening. Pittsburgh isn't big enough to support 4 professional franchises.

the pistons there's too much history.the nba would go out of its way to find a way to keep them there

the 76ers just need winning and a new guy to embrace to show up,they've lacked both since the ai glory days, philly and basketball are to classic a fit

i can see the others but i doubt the kings, they'll wanna stay in west and are looking for a splashy move

Pretty sick name, The Pittsburgh Pistons, or Pittsburgh Pacers.

Anyways, Pitt should get a team.

Look what happened in OKC. That city has embraced the Thunder in a city that has NEVER had a franchise.

Sports are too worried about "large markets" as opposed to loyal fanbases. Most Florida teams (in all sports) can't sell tickets unless their team is being advertised on ESPN and they have multiple teams.

Make the move, I don't think you will have to remind Pittsburgh to FAN UP.

I see no possible way the Pistons are ever moved. If the NBA relocates any team it has to be New Orleans or Memphis. Both cities would make sense but not Detroit and their storied franchise. Seems like you friend is making things up.

Yeah the Pistons will never move out of Detroit. Pittsburgh would be on my shortlist of cities the NBA would expand to (Along with St.Louis, Las Vegas and Baltimore).

Vegas has no chance and Baltimore is too close to DC. I don't see any reason to move a team there..

If Seattle can move I see no reason that Detroit couldn't. But I don't see that happening. I don't think they're having financial issues.

If New Orleans loses Paul in the coming years than they might become a candidate. Otherwise Memphis and Charlotte would be my pick.

Charlotte's attendance and ownership is an embarrassment to the league.

The truth of the matter is the Pirates are barely treading water financially every year, if not for Super Mario the Penguins would have been gonzo. Pittsburgh will always be a Steel town.

I cant see the city of Pittsburgh being able to sustain 4 major sports teams when history has shown outside of the Steelers the other sports teams suffer greatly financially. Pittsburgh is a great blue collar city but they just dont have the capitol to have 4 major teams.

People in the "Burgh" would choose Steelers 100% of the time if they had to choose to buy a ticket to a sports event. Seeing as basketball season and football season coincide for at least 5 months I dont see the city picking basketball over Steeler Football until the football season is over. The Penguins who have a Stanley Cup under their belt and the best player in the League in Crosby barely make a profit.

Las Vegas is a sure spot for a franchise, that city is loaded with money, there are plenty of super rich folks who can afford to sustain a franchise for the long haul. Their tourism alone can sustain it. Move Sacramento there and they already have the name....

Las Vegas Kings
