Sources say Dallas is the front runner with the SF hole open for good minutes, with New Orleans being a close 2nd bc his family still lives there

And the Lakers being the dark horse in all of this.

If he is back to playing how he used to like Hedo did this year, this will be HUGE for Dallas and bc his contract will be prob veteran min. since he is being bought out of that huge expiring

Should go to OKC, their outside shooting has been pretty poor. They are dead last in 3PT %.

Are you insane? Peja's old already and plays no defense, he'd be a 4th stringer.

I didn't say I want him on the Heat but I want him to consider it and leave it up to Pat Riley to say no

Thibs could definitely make a sick gameplan for him in Chicago.

I think the best fit would be Dallas.

ManRam
01-20-2011, 05:17 PM
I think he'd be a good addition to any of those teams...but he's well removed from being a significant impact player. But again, he could give a solid 15-20 minutes off the bench, and spread the court for some of those teams.

I'm surprised he wouldn't consider Miami, or NY.

Well he said he wants to go out West, so I see him signing with the Mavs.

Eagles4Lyfe
01-20-2011, 05:28 PM
why the hell did we not trade him for a pick then or just keep him untill the end of the year and forced teams to trade for him if they wanted

I expect Peja to sign with Dallas. Mainly because of the Butler injury; you know Cuban will be trying to get him.

I wouldnt mind Peja on the Bulls.

Miami doesn't need him.

We have enough right now, but a solid PG or C would be nice.

The mavs will probably go after him as others have said. I don't really think it would help them all that much but they need to do something to make up for the loss of Caron.

He can still hit that 3, in the brief minutes he got in Toronto before getting injured he was lighting it up.

For cheap, I wouldn't mind him in Dallas. Mavs usually space the floor well and he'd fit in with that scheme. Don't expect many minutes, but he's a great shooter and vet that can play big in stretches.

Since he wants to go to the West, I'd say Dallas or La

Peja has not really been relevant since leaving the Kings... I don't believe that will change now...

As far as Peja goes, don't expect much. He's actually played and shot well in limited time this year (a 20 PER in 111 total minutes, who knew?), but he's also 33 and his back hasn't been right for years. His three-point stroke is good, he's shot in the high 30s over the last few seasons, but it's not good enough to make up for bad defense, poor rebounding, and the fact that half his shots come from outside the arc (above-average three-point shooting plus below average two-point shooting plus few free throws equal an inefficient offensive player) hampers his ability to contribute.

Not sure if you guys on the 1st page are serious, but Peja is a scrub. He got traded for Jarrett Jack and then cut all in the same season. If that doesn't tell you how hard he's fallen I don't know how else he can prove it to you

he'd be so good on the KNICKS!!! shoot out the lights coming off the bench. hopefully the Knicks get into the mix of this

01-20-2011, 06:20 PM
He's a better defender than anyone the heat have (I'm begging you to argue a case for all the lazy you know what's on that team). Could be a good shooter off the bench for a contender.

Mavs have secured verbal commitment from Peja Stojakovic that he's signing with Dallas once he clears waivers. Updated ESPN.com link on wayhttp://twitter.com/STEIN_LINE_HQ/status/28216900760633344

Sources say Mavs also close to separate trade w/TOR to send reserve center Alexis Ajinca to Raps for draft itemsf. All explained in storyhttp://twitter.com/STEIN_LINE_HQ/status/28216900760633344

The Mavs are looking more and more like their former selves... another 3 point shooter to help the current guys chuck up even more shots.

I see no way that the Mavs beat the Spurs or Lakers in the Western Conference w/o Caron Butler. Even with Caron I still doubt their chances.

+1...It's hilarious how the OP tried to compare him to Hedo's resurgence in Orlando, no offence, but unless the man finds the fountain of youth he's no more than a 3rd stringer/borderline back-up right now.

Everyone said Sasha Pavlovic was washed up and couldnt play anymore

But he helped up beat the Lakers with the 11 pts!!!! I see the same thing for Peja

Bc Marion is better at PF, we need a SF thats a shooter off the bench(Peja) and our slasher (Roddy B) to get back

Peja is a family man and he is a crowd favourite in NOLA, so i think he'll sign with us + he loves sinking 3's vs Dallas... Therefore NOLA :)

Looks official that Peja's going to Dallas. Good move by the Mavs.

I don't see how Peja could go to the lakers after what happened in 2002. He was playing in the most controversial/obviously tarnished game in NBA history and he was on the losing side of it. Divac went back because that was his original home. I can't see Peja going to the lakers after game 6, 2002.

Hell, I can't see Bibby, Wallace, Turkoglu, or any other of the kings on that roster going to the lakers unless they're at the very end of the careers desperate for a ring.

I actually think he'd be a great fit for LA's second unit, I think he'd mesh really well with guys like Blake, Brown and Barnes, though I do think they need another big more then anything.

He'd fit in definitely, anything is better than Luke at this point to be honest.

About the bigs, we're fine in that regard. Odom, Pau, and Bynum is a really good frontcourt, then there's Theo who's not great, but he's a body. Only problem would be if Bynum goes down again.. Then we're really thin.

I'll pass on him from a Lakers standpoint, there is no need for him. We need defense and athlethicism at the 3 spot. 3-point shooting would be great but that's just not the dire need at the moment imo

Didn't say wee would sweep them. But we obviously proved we can beat them. And were not even close to full strength at this time. The Lakers are a good team but hardly invincible...

Idk man but I could care less about any season before this one because it has no bearing on what's going on in todays NBA.... Carpe Diem we seize the day. Not yesterday, not tomorrow, not next year, but Today.... And if we continue to do that everything else will take care of itself....
