View Full Version : Marcus Camby to Have Surgery on Knee, Out 3-6 Weeks

Man the Blazers can't catch a break. Hopefully they make a move to Anthony Randolph.

Marcus Camby has a partial tear of the meniscus in his left knee, and has elected to undergo surgery on it later this week.

More details will follow so stay tuned, but a surgery for a meniscus tear can be a fairly clean procedure and resulting time off can be in the 3-6 week range, in a best-case. Obviously, things can be worse and this calls into question his season. Joel Przybilla projects to be the better play long-term if his knee can hold up, while Dante Cunningham will be the immediate beneficiary and stands to take any minutes that Przybilla can't handle. Sean Marks could also get into the act. The injury calls into question Portland's ability to trade him as he is signed for this year and next, and will make $9 million next year. Anthony Randolph also gets a boost with this news in the event he lands in Portland, and makes for an interesting stash, though we wouldn't drop anybody of real value to do it.

More reason not to trade Batum. They gotta rebuild soon if luck still isn't going their way.

Yeah uhh I hope you know that Aldridge is averaging 21/9, and you say build around Batum... I watch 70+ Blazer games a season, and I must say I don't think his ceiling is as high as you PSDer's think.

Batum's Pros and Cons

Pros
Great defender
Unselfish, can play well without the ball
Good 3-point Shooter (37%)
Decent mid range jumper
Finishes lay ins/dunks
22 Years old and is 6-8 and has a 7-4 wingspan
Cons
Makes poor decisions
Passive player
Ball Handling could be better
Inconsistant

I feel bad for camby and the blazers loyal fanbase. I wonder how much longer will they hold on to that 8th seed?

One less team to worry about in the West...

Despite all their injuries, gotta give them props for finding players in the dirt. First Batum now Matthews.

Only if they can hire a decent medical staff and start praying to God.

Ehh it's just time to trade all those injury-prone players except Oden.

That Means
Pryz-Don't resign after this season
Roy-Find some idiot take him through trade (Isiah Thomas needs to become a GM)
Camby-Ehhh you can get traded before the trade deadline.

As a suns fan you should be worried about every team in the west. Suns are battling for the 8th seed, we should feel bad for you.

With Camby out, I think we'll at least take the 8th seed. Plus we have looked decent recently so maybe that will continue.

But lets not forget about Memphis or Houston.

This kills me I've already had Noah on my bench for over a month in fantasy. I have no more big guy support around Howard and Josh Smith!

Terrible news for the Blazers. Hope he has a quick recovery.

This sucks for the Blazers, and for those of us who like Camby.

On the bright side, it's always nice (for a New Zealander) to get a chance to see Sean Marks play.

Wanted the Hawks to get him. Maybe if Denver blows it up, Sund can go get Nene or something.
