View Full Version : Does a Melo trade automatically put Griffin as a starter?

I was having a debate over this with some Clippers fans, and just wanted to know the opinion on PSD. They were saying that since GRIFFIN is ahead of Duncan and Dirk in the All Star ballot, this turns him into a starter if Melo gets traded. They think Pau will be moved to Center, and Griffin will play the 4

Pau
Griffin
Durant
Kobe
Whoever Deron or Paul

I think he will still be a backup if picked by coaches, because they wont move Pau to center.

So a trade is set for Melo? Finally! Give me the details.

He should. Williams passing to Kobe, Durant, and Griffin would be awesome.

Its not set, I was saying "if" he gets traded before the ALL-STAR game. And there is a high posibility of that "if".

probably not but the east allstar team would be stacked, if melo were traded.

Good thing the bench is chosen by coaches because if not, Dirk won't have any all-star appearance...

But honestly if you think about it, there arent many centers in the West as skilled as Bynum. I mean the only center I wouldnt mind starting would be Nene I guess? But thats all really...

Definitely deserves it over any other forward in the West (besides Pau who should just be put at center so BG can start :p)...

I think the better question is does Melo still make the Eastern All-Stars if traded to an East team?

i doubt if dwill even gets in, its the racial part of the voting, since dwill plays in utah he doesnt get the votes, we would all like to see him playing with durant, kobe etc but it seems even if dwill averaged 30/20 he would still barely skate in, its pathetic

dwill is averaging 22.1 ppg and 9.4 apg

paul is 16.2 ppg and 9.6 apg

please somebody explain how you dont vote dwill ahead of paul this year

If anything, Gasol starts and Duncan is at C.

They will do the respectful thing and give it to Duncan because he's been starting all ASG's he's been in.

First of all, Melo isn't going anywhere before the allstar break IMO. Melo pretty much decided to spend the season with the nuggets if they don't trade him to NY (As I heard from several radio interview from ex-players and analysts). So more likely he'll be the starter.

Also for this thread, Blake Griffin is the most deserving forward to start from west. And Pau should really be moved to center. That'll make it a more interesting game (Bynum doesn't deserve to be an allstar this year with his injuries and stuff).

TBH I actually still like Dirk better than Pau. But I guess I'll go with TD.

IDC if anthony is still in the west if Griffin doesn't start then there is no justice in my eyes

Bynum? Wow.

I wouldn't mind 3 Laker players being in the all-star game but it should be Kobe, Pau & Odom not Bynum.

Am I super bias when I say Lamarcus Aldridge should get an all star reserve spot over Love/Griffin? I mean he totally changed his game and has become a leader for an injury-riddled Portland that is currently in play contention with a WINNING record.

Aldridges Stats
21.1 PPG
8.7 RPG
50% FG
75% FT( Suck on that Blake )

See, players like Aldridge and Love DEFINETLY deserve to be in the ASG. But they tend to slip under the radar just because they dont dunk left and right. IDK Griffin still has tons of room to develop.

Simple:

CP3 - 25.6PER .607TS% .529EFG% 6.9RB% 47.7AST% 4.2STL% 14.9TO% 21.1USG% 124Ortg 99Drtg 5.5OWS 2.9DWS 8.4WS 0.272WS48

CP3 is better than DWill in each and every aspect of the game, on both ends... Will people stop looking at meaningless "per game" stats, sheesh.

I agree, although there are others more deserving than Odom..

As far as Griffin goes, I definitely think he deserves it.. He's been playing lights out but it's kind of hard to imagine a 1st year player getting the nod in a conference with plenty good PFs.

you must have missed my point about this year, sorry you missed that, guess it sucks for dwill that he plays for utah and actually has a team aspect and has a good coach, my bad, sorry dwill you suck because your on a better team with a better coach, now you should be punished

you must be biased because THIS YEAR dwill blows cp3 out of the competition, THIS YEAR, dwill is better anyways but thats for another thread

These stats are from this year lol... The fact that he plays on a better team with a better coach should help him be even more efficient than CP3.

CP3 is better than DWill in every aspect of basketball and it isn't close.

usually if someone were to get traded pre allstar game and switched confrences (east to west or west to east)

the open slot is usually a coaches pick
