Not sure how he will pan out in the NFL but, in the CFL, this guy is one of the top DB's. It'll be interesting to see what he can do. Rick Foley (DE) tried out for the Seahawks this year but was cut before the season started and he led the CFL in Sacks in 2009.

Here's some reading on him:

He's a 6'4" CB! Could also play SS.

I love him already.

Browner was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Denver Broncos in 2005. Browner impressed coaches with several interceptions and aggressive play in training camp and he was a strong defender in goal line and red zone drills. The promising undrafted rookie from Oregon State fractured his left forearm August 20th against San Francisco. The Broncos placed him on injured reserve on August 25, 2005 and he missed the entire 2005 season. On July 24, 2006, Denver waived him to make room for other players.
Browner signed with the Calgary Stampeders in 2006. His speed and competitive effort made him a fan favourite in his short time with the team. He won the 2008 Grey Cup with Calgary and was named a CFL All-Star for the season. Browner was the only defensive player on a gritty Calgary defense selected to the CFL All-Star team for the second year in a row for his performance in the 2009 season.

Apparently they are signing him (or already did). Check out one of the links I posted above. Low risk/high reward. I would love to see a big physical 6'4" shutdown corner in a Seahawks uniform. Especially if he came out of nowhere.

The Stamps are also likely to lose West all-star defensive tackle Tom Johnson to the NFL. Johnson has drawn interest from a variety of teams, including the New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Redskins and the Seahawks.

Hell yeah he is! Man, I would LOVE to take a chance on him.....not sure if this means we still have to pass on getting a CB in the draft....unless we get a major one this FA.

We draft one and trade Marcus for a 4th/5th! Tru has been a great Seahawk, but injuries have mounted and he looked horrible this year! PLUS... He's set to make like $6M+ plus this year!

Kiss Kelly Jennings' sorry *** goodbye!

Yeah, he could be great elsewhere. Sounds legit to me!

Also, what do you think of this mock draft?

ummm not sure about Baldwin...he has great speed but small size. Nothing against size I am just a fan of big receivers with long arms and strong hands to catch the long ball or jump ball.

I love signing Browner especially with no risk here and the guy has done it all in the CFL. Plus he's got tremendous size with people saying he's 6'3 or 6'4. He played at Oregon St so he'll be comfortable in the Pacific Northwest and he has the skills to be a NFL player. I totally agree with whoever said trade Trufant and let Jennings weak *** walk in FA.

Baldwin is actually huge. Don't like the way he bashed his coach though saying he made him look bad on purpose to make him stay at Pitt for another year.

Pretty good physical talent, but attitude may be an issue. Might be different for you guys, as he's a guy fighting to make the team as opposed to one of the CFL's top DBs, and could also be a product of the Calgary lockerroom and just a lack of discipline on that team(wouldn't be the first guy to leave and have his attitude issues go away), but that remains to be seen. Also might be too physical as a corner. As good as he was, he was fairly notorious for his clutch and grab style and it caught up to him in the playoffs(he basically shut down the league's leading receiver, but took a pretty bad and costly penalty at one point, and that might've made a huge difference).

All in all, though, good signing. Had kind of hoped my Roughriders would take a look at him, but not surprised that some NFL teams coveted him. I think there's a good chance his attitude problems go away, to some extent, for you guys and he ends up making the team, although not certain in what capacity.

Just FYI, the talent level in the CFL is waaaay below the NFL.

I watched him play at Oregon State... He was really hurt by coming out of for the draft early. He had one really stellar year and got bad advice and declared early. Mock drafts that year still had him going in the second or third round. I am worried that while he has great size which has been explored, I worry about his speed. He was never known as a speed guy and how would he match up with at the 2,3, or 4 CB position?

Guy I from NY and a HUGE Orange fan (not proud of it but hey we are on our way back... GO MARRONE)... anyway... Baldwin is the complete opposite of small size, he looks alot like Dez Bryant but with a Randy Moss attitude.... I think with him and our BMW on the ends that could really be a problem for opposing corners. I just dont know if WR is a 1st priority in the draft.

He's 26, I wouldn't call that old. His 40-time isn't the best (someone mentioned a 4.5), but 40-time isn't everything. Kelly Jennings runs a 4.45 and he ****ing sucks! Not saying Browner will be great, but a guy that big that plays physical is what this DEF could use a dose of. I'm tired of seeing Tru get picked on and Jennings getting caught out of place!

At first I didn't like the Baldwin mock draft, but after thinking about it im liking it more and more. The only other guys I would want are Ingram (don't really need another RB, especially in the 1st) or Cameron Hayward, and Adrian Clayborn (which again we don't really need a DE at this time). I would say having two big WR like Baldwin and BMW would be great. I also think that not needing Baldwin as a #1 WR will help him.

I might look at D.J. Williams instead of Baldwin, but I wouldn't mind this at all.

Oh and about Browner, this finally gives us a big CB that we need, and gives us the oppurtunity to release Jennings and trade Tru. However im not totaly sure that he can be the guy we think he will be, but he has a lot of potential and definately a low risk/high reward.

Well said. Best case, he turns into something like the Jets' Cromartie. Worst case, he gets axed and not paid that much.

PS: Trufant isn't getting traded.

I love this move. Can't say I'd heard of him, but after reading a couple of those links he seems to have the skill set and size to be great. He is only 26 too.
