View Full Version : Melo Aside ... Top 10 Names To Be Moved Before The Deadline

01-14-2011, 06:37 AM
Like the title says, Melo trade aside, who are the top 10 guys you feel shall be dealt to a different team before the trade deadline?

1 is the most likely to be moved and 10 is the least likely. As a Bonus, add a Buy Out Category and tell who you feel will be bought out.

We can revisit this later.

Anthony Randolph
Steve Nash
OJ Mayo
Andre Iguodala
JR Smith
Chris Kaman
Andre Miller
Grant Hill
Marcus Camby
Marc Gasol

Buy out: Vince Carter, Peja Stojakovic, Eddy Curry, Kenyon Martin, and Troy Murphy

I hope we do move Nash and Hill, but i bet Sarver will hold on them (more so nash) as long as possible.

Samuel Dalembert with his $13 Mill. expiring and Carl Landry with his low $3 Mill. expiring contract.

Not sure where they rank but they gotta be there somewhere.

Magic may make a trade. No "big" names but: Duhon, Q-Rich and as rumors say, Redick could be moved. I could also think of the Bucks make a move maybe with Maggette, as another rumor sometime ago said. Knicks will also likely move Roger Mason Jr. .

But for Top 10 Names besides Melo I think the thread-opener seems to have his list complete ...

Great list,
I wonder how many NBA teams would be looking to dismantle this year at the deadline and if that number is high( say 5-6 franchises) plus throw in the new CBA at the end of the season, witch means teams will be looking to the future, while some teams are lookin to the present, This could be the BIGGEST deadlines ever... Teams now have the chance to trade players and start over with new lower contracts moving forward, While large market teams can load up because the only thing to lose will be money, Then the owners can firgure out how to fit it all in the new CBA

George (Cleveland)

Can teams just trade injured players (such as Andy Varejao and Caron Butler) like normal healthy players? Or are there some sort of limitations?

John Hollinger (3:04 PM)

No, they can still be traded. So somebody could conceivably acquire Varejao and just count on having him next season, or -- the more likely case -- dump a contract they don't want in return for Butler or Yao Ming, who won't play but have deals that expire after the season.

The names here are all pretty good. Not sure if Iggy's a 4 or not, but I'd love to see him go and still think management is bluffing when they continually say they're keeping him.

Looks like detroit is ready to begin a fresh which means folks like t.prince might be on their way out.

Simmons called him the Anthony Trade Tax. If Denver can get rid of this guy they will be lucky.

01-14-2011, 09:19 PM
Tayshaun Prince is an expiring who is having a nice year and is a good defender. Detroit is rebuilding. Would make sense for a contender to make the Pistons an offer.

01-14-2011, 09:43 PM
JR smitty
NJ entire Roster

01-14-2011, 10:52 PM
Suns can't buyout Vince since we have to decline his option for next year first.
Can't do that till after this season.
It's more likely that Zach Randolph gets moved over Nash and he's not on the list.
