i was watching lamar odom play tonight and he is a superstar deminished to a role player with his height+lenght+athleticism and skills it seams to me if he was a primary player for a team he could be a 20ppg+10boards if he was a primary option on a team what do u guys think

I think you missed his season in Miami and some of his Clipper days

He is taking the easy way to championships. He should go out and play on teams that actually need his services. Lakers don't need him. Teams like Warriors do.

He is in the perfect situation in LA where he can use his abilities to help the team win and win often. Maybe he could have a larger role, but he excels in the role he has now so why change it?

Basically, he's pretty good.

Why? he makes a great third option off the bench. He finally found a perfect team/role, he shouldnt ruin it

People have to realize that Odom basically plays starter minutes most games as well. He's in a terrific situation, fits perfectly with the Lakers, and really IMO can stretch his career out in doing so with LA.

Also LA is one of the nicer cities to play in, and he and his wife live there,

However good he is I always feel like he can play better.

All-star this year cuz it's in LA

Why do people keep saying things like this? With the exception of (rare) situations like Kidd last year, where he was a last-minute injury replacement, has playing at home ever actually made a difference to a player getting in?

Odom is a very good player when he is on the right team with players that compliment him. He will never be able to be a go-to guy or even a 2nd option... however, on the lakers, he is the 3rd/4th option with teams paying little attention to him.

It works out perfectly.

Not so fast man this year he might make it especially If Carmelo Is traded!

Lamar is great and since he got married I can see he has become more agressive and more confident. Of course winning Back to back Rings can make that happen also.

Did you see how Lamar took over in the 4th tonight when Kobe was resting and then got both Drew and Pau more involved and cleaned up on their misses.

Lakers and LO Perfect Fit for years to come....That's why we didn't let him get away this past Summer!

Love him and the Lakers!

Agreed. As important to this Lakers championship run as just about any non-alpha dogs who were selected for the ASG in previous years. He deserves it this season.

Also, could you forward any info you have on this "easy way" over to the Bulls?

He is an unbelievable fourth option, but cant take the pressure of being a number one or two option, hence why the Lakers needed Pau to win the rings. He has double digits triple doubles if I'm not wrong, but like I said, he cant take the pressure of having to score/being a second option.

he's pretty much all the time the 3rd option in lakers offense

I think he is the fourth after Bynum. Regardless, he is a great role player and nothing more.

nice *** sig but i disagree. the west has too much forwards. Durant, Melo, Randolph, Gasol, Love, Griffin, etc...I doubt he gets in.

He sure is better than any 2nd option Lebron had on Cleveland lol

He is in the perfect position for him as the third man.

Not enough attention on him by defenses.
Not a ton of responsability or pressure on him.

He is playing better thanks to that , than he ever did when he was supposed to be the second at helm under bryant or lead the boat in Clipps/heat.

I think he can be a 20-10 guy by himself, but not a build around player

He is superstar talent with bench warmer desire. I have watched him since his clipper days and there are just games that he takes off, but then there are games where he goes off. When motivated he can be an easy #2 option, but most of the time he is just out there to have fun, eat candy, be on reality TV and collect a paycheck, if rings come then that is a plus.

The guy does everything, he can fit on any team. Very under-appreciated player.

His stats don't begin to show what he does on the floor. He never had the mentality to be the #1 guy, but hes perfect for the lakers because he does whatever is needed at the time.

His last season in Mia he was a beast though. That was one of the funnest teams I ever watched.

Yeah I don't believe LO will actually get in though.

He is the number one reason why the Lakers are still staying afloat right now. He's the 3rd-5th best rebounder in the league. He's the best passing big man next to Pau. His biggest issues were always going to his left and never being consistent, but both have been wiped out this year.

odom is good enough to get the runner-up in the Kardashian family.

He was the primary option as a Clipper and one of the featured players in Miami. His role is perfect now as a Laker and he's having one of his best season's ever because of it.

Odom is a perfect fit for the Lakers and is best as a 3rd/4th option...he's been the most consistent laker the whole season...

Although he is not a #1 nor a #2....and thats not a shot at Odom...
