Who will end up with the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference?

1 Boston 27 7 .794
2 Miami 28 9 .757

I don't think Boston cares about their regular season record too much.

Heat. Same reason as this^

Miami.

Boston seems to have an injury bug and besides, I think the Celtics are going to take their foot off the pedal soon and allow some of the older guys to rest for the playoffs.

GeekInThePink

I voted Orlando, I think there last trade made them significantly better, and if they can acquire a backup big man, they'll be pretty deadly in my opinion.

I think the Heat win continue to roll in the regular season, as will the new look Magic. The Celtics are dealing with some injuries, and like last year, I expect them to just go into coast-mode a bit. I'm not saying they are the third best team necessarily, I just think they will slow up a bit eventually for the sake of the playoffs.

I don't think Boston cares about their regular season record too much.

I don't agree with the 2nd part. If anything Celtics really want to win and try to get the home court throughout coz they know if they had the home court advantage last year, they would have beaten Lakers.

So that is a false statement.

As for this thread: Heat will win something like 65-games and win the conference (better yet, best record in the NBA).

I'd say Boston, but they are going to focus on resting their players and making sure they're ready to go come the playoffs.

Chicago won't be number one because Noah is out and they have no shooting-guards.

Orlando has the potential to, but they still need some time to gain chemistry.

Figuring Miami stays healthy it wouldn't surprise me if they finished on top.

Toss up between Boston and Miami, but Boston takes a seven game series. Their too deep and know the Heats weaknesses too well. Miami cant do anything to defend Allen and Boston's bench will be ridiculous by then, with Perkins and Delonte coming back. Miami may well have the better regular season record, as they seem to consistently destroy bad teams, which there are many of in the east.

Doc Rivers has stressed the importance of HCA since the Game 7 loss in LA. He will not allow them to take any breaks along the way. We're going all out for home court, and if we've already got the best record with all these injuries, you'd be dumb not to think that when KG, Perkins, and Delonte West are all back that we won't continue to hold onto that.

I have a feeling Miami gets it.. and quite honestly I think they're going to need HCA.

I do not think they can win it all if they don't have HCA not because they're not capable [they have Lebron and Wade who can win on the road] but they're really going to need it against a team like Boston if they were to meet.

Boston has proven they can win on the road when it matters the most. If this were Lebron/Wade/Bosh 2nd year together, I don't think this would be a problem.

faze38
01-18-2011, 10:16 AM
Normally I wouldn't say the C's because they don't care about the regular season but after last year they will want to secure homecourt for the finals. So expect them to finish strong especially once they get Perk back.

Boston, they know how important home court advantage can be as it helped them win banner 17. Also they have shown that they can beat Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, & they've even beaten San Antonio with guys hurt. They're the deepest team in all the NBA .

I think Chi would have to go on a couple of nice stretches where they're like 8-2 or 9-1 because for the most part Boston and MIA are going to win the games they're supposed to. Fully healthy I think they're capable but I never trust Boozers health.

Also I think even at full strength wins will be a lil harder for them to come by in the final stretch. Especially when you look at the Indy's, Philly's, and Bobcats of the world making a playoff push.....

Bulls have a good chance to surpass them, and so do the heat, I could see boston getting an injury to KG or someobdy important and loosing a few games. if the bulls can keep it up, they should be #1, if not, the heat could take the #1 spot. Bulls are set for the #3 seed though for sure.

 you sure your not wishing for an injury to KG? Boston has a easy schedule they will be the #1 seed no doubt. Bulls better be happy to take the 2 seed. cause the heat will finish strong and make a push for the 2 seed.

1.Celtics no doubt
2.Bulls
3.Heat
4.Magic

If the 'good chance' includes 'if' an injury happens, it's not a good chance.

I'm perfectly happy holding on to the 2 seed.

Celtics dont seem to be losing much...we will get close but I don't see us over taking them.

i voted boston as a homer pick but after thinkin itll be chicago cause boston will rest their starters to be fresh for the playoffs especially shaq and kg and jermaine wont play till the playoffs. plus chicago has been playin great lately. not miami cause theyre too much of a drama show plus i ****in hate them

Who will end up with the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference?

1 Boston 27 7 .794
2 Miami 28 9 .757
3 Chicago 23 11 .676 4
4 Orlando 23 12 .657 4

I can't believe so many people chose Miami.. Not because of their recent struggles but because you just have to like the little changes Boston made at the deadline.. More than that you have to like their experience, skill and intensity... I wouldn't bet against them..

I really thought Miami was locked in to get the #1 seed this year.

Yeah I have no doubt that Miami will be the #1 seed.

I really thought Miami was locked in to get the #1 seed this year.

Great prediction.

:silly:

The key is Boston holds a 3 game lead in the loss column over both the Bulls and Miami for the better conference record. This means, both Miami and Chicago would have to finish with a full 1 game lead over us to have the 1 seed.

Celtics 32-9
Bulls 30-12
Heat 30-12

Season series:

Boston 3-0 over Heat (they can't win this tiebreaker now)
Boston 2-1 over Bulls (even if they win next one, Boston still holds conference tiebreaker)
Bulls 3-0 over Heat (they can't win tiebreaker now)

All tiebreakers go to Boston right now.

My Prediction is who ever wins the Boston vs. Chicago game on April 7th will win the #1 seed. Simple as that
