LeBron James and Dwyane Wade split Eastern Conference Player of Month for December, with Kevin Durant getting Western honor.

Player of Month is not any sort of vote, but rather a decision of league's PR staff, making it easier to come up with a tie on demand.

Anyone know how many times 2 players from the same team won co-MVP's of the month??

Not sure, but this one couldn't have been more fitting.

These are the right choices for December, and I expect all three to be in the top 5 for voting by the end of the year. While Wade's case is virtually just as strong as Brons as the top player on the team, Lebron's is aided by the fact that his also grows stronger with each consecutive loss in Cleveland. Especially given that so many people were convinced they'd compete for and even make the playoffs.

Lebron/Wade/KD/Dirk/Amare (though I don't feel Amare deserves all the recognition he's getting as he's not doing anything he hasn't done before, I do agree he's been very solid, and that the voters will - somewhat wrongfully -reward him as the reason for the Knicks semi-resurgence). Those are my picks for the top 5 in MVP voting by years end, but it's too tough to tell how they'll vote for the #1 given The Merger.

Chris Paul and Durant have never even made it to the WCF let alone the actual Finals, and have never won an MVP.

I don't see how you think they are in this elite class Dirk isn't in if they can't even lead their team to the Finals. At least the other guys in your list have done as much.

Only, Wade's stats are down accross the board with Lebron and still much better than Kobe's.

@Beasted: I'm talking this season. I wasn't listing who's the best career wise or who has the most playoff sucess so your point is less than relevant.

Those are the best players statistically and actually and those, for the most part, are the winningest players in the league today. Whether or not they've had the teammates is another question for another thread on another day.

Why do you think Durant gets off to slow starts for the season?

Usually that's a sign of laziness in the offseason.

Across the board? His shooting is way up from last season with the exception of FT% which LeBron can't help. Turnovers are down. When you watch the Heat games, you see Wade coasting a lot while LeBron does the heavy lifting.

ive seen every single heat game for the last 5 years....Wade should have won MVP 2 years ago, and last year was almost as good, so how exactly is Lebron making him look good, when he has been doing this for years...the only reason he is being recognized now is because the HEAT are winning...

Wade should have won MVP 2 years ago? Are you mad? Or just jealous of LeBron for some reason? Show me one month during his "MVP" year where he had close to the efficiency that he had in December. Stop relying on stats and watch the games.

Now if you go back two years (last year was injury riddled) you'll see his shooting is equal, his scoring is down, his assists are down, his TOV% is the worst in the past 3 years, his o rtg is worse, and his WS/48 is down...

Wade's having a below average season for him. Wade was a top 3 player last year (and before that) and he sure as hell is this year.

Why waste so many posts on this clown? He isn't using facts to back up his arguments, as usual.

USG%
Wade 31.5%
James 31.1%

Assisted Percentage of FGs
Wade 35%
James 34%

Clutch stats (Net points):
Wade +9
LeBron +5

But besides these numbers on a page, if you actually watch the game and use what actually happens in the game to form an opinion, everyone see's the impact on the team when Wade has a great game. Heat are like 18-2 when he scores 23+.

I've never seen a guy coast his way to leading a team in scoring when he's only getting assisted on 35% of his shots.

are you serious? Wade has played like this every year. People are just noticing now that Lebron is there with all the media hype. Lebron make Wade look good? No lebron in 06 when Wade averaged 36ppg in their 4 finals wins. No LBJ when Wade led the league in scoring. Wade is clearly one of the best players in the league and if you say otherwise you are clearly drinking that hatorade
