How does KG have more votes than STAT? And Shaq shouldn't have so many votes. But it is a popularity contest so I'm not surprised by Shaq's votes.

can't wait to see brendan haywood starting the all star game. i'd rather have them do this:

chris paul
kobe bryant
kevin durant
carmelo anthony
pau gasol

i see amare winning it over kg in the end. rose should make a leap over rondo. kinda hoping to see blake in the all star game.

I agree with this. He should be ahead of VC and Gordon at least.

I believe the preparers of the all-star ballots thought Haywood would start over Chandler for Dallas so it was Haywood's name that is included in the ballot.

Al jefferson should be the starting center of the west. he keeps getting shafted

Nene should be the reserve center for the West if ever they indeed make Pau/Duncan start at center.

Western Conference Center voting is why I think they should re-vamp the system - 1PG, 2 Wings and 2 Bigs.

That way you don't have Kobe at the 1, Melo at the 4 and no controversy about where guys like TD are listed.

If bynum puts up numbers like yesterday which was I think 18 points and idk how many rebounds but if Bynum stat line is 17-18 points and 9-10 boards and 2-3 blocks
a game I see no reason why he shoulnt start yes he missed 20+ games but no center would be as productive if he averaged that!

Everyone needs to relax. I don't see anything on here that wasn't expected. I'm actually surprised Yao didn't get more votes. He obviously is not going to play and the NBA will hopefully work things out like they did the previous year with either Pau or Timmy starting. And why is everyone bickering about role players receiving votes? :laugh2: Keep in mind this is for starters only. No need to vent on how Felton is not higher than Jennings

the Center position out west is a joke in the votes.

almost every position for each conference are jokes. half the players that received votes i wouldnt even think twice about putting them in the all star game. its just whos the most popular, not who is having the best season.

Bruno
12-30-2010, 06:34 PM
Does this mean Bynum is the starting Center out west? IMO, Gasol played his most dominant ball of the season in November while playing Center, he should play center during the all-star game. Odom deserves the nod over Bynum. There are a half dozen other players from other teams who should get the nod over Bynum.

gsgs49
12-30-2010, 06:38 PM
Pau or Duncan should start at the center spot if not it will be ridiculous Yao is injured and Bynum could get injured again then Brendan haywood will start?a backup center starting in the all star game, that is funny.

Tyson Chandler is the starter for Dallas. Haywood plays like 15mpg! The West centers are awful...those so-called basketball analysts are on crack. Duncan/Gasol should be immediately switched to the center position. Seriously, Yao Ming is going to drag his way to another allstar selection.

well keep in mind they make the ballots before the season starts.

still, in the internet age, you'd think it would be possible to amend some of these mistakes. does tim duncan give out blowies to stay listed as a forward on the ballot? why does he hate being called a center so much?

al jefferson is the guy who is getting screwed the most. he's been playing center all season, again, but is technically listed as a forward and thus has no chance of making it out west.

i also feel bad for kevin martin, who will almost certainly not make it but has been spectacular.

Yao will win the Center spot and obviously not play so the coaches will probably choose either Pau or Duncan.

I think so as well. Actually I'm not sure why they just don't take him off the ballot now knowing he is out all year.

Boozer is having a better season than Bosh and yet he is 100k votes behind. However, there are bigger snubs out there. It's too bad the way this voting works.

Because keeping him on there is a double win.

The NBA looks good to the Chinese market to perhaps let Yao have his sendoff at this game if he decides to say enough is enough. It is a truly nice swan song, even if he can't play in the game like Magic did.

The NBA also insures that a deserving guy gets on the team with him on the ballot. The coaches get to elect a replacement and even move Pau/Duncan to the center spot. If they took him off the next highest vote getter which is Bynum would get in automatically and have to play as long as he is healthy and doesn't miss the game beforehand as the league doesn't allow the vote getters to just turn it down and sit out.

The NBA should change the the format, fans should not decide who the starters should be

Only about 3 spots are still open to battle at.
