Looking forward to Mavs and OKC.

Also looking forward to the Clips and Kings game (did I just write that?). I'm hoping that Blake Griffin will rip off DeMarcus Cousins' head Mortal Kombat style, subsequently tomahawk jammin' it into the depths of hell.

Nice first half in that Dallas OKC game. 56-56. Westbrook/Kidd, KD/Dirk all with pretty nice first halfs. Durant leading the way with 16 on 5-10 shooting, and Kidd working on a potential triple double (8/7/6 with 2 threes).

No Dirk? No problem. We win at OKC without the MVP of the league. Kidd, Chandler, Butler and Marion were all A+ tonight. Terry was A+ in the 4th. Stevenson was great and Alexis Ajinca hit a 3 pointer at a crucial moment! 24-5. We have beaten Miami (2), San Antonio, Boston, Utah (2), Orlando, Oklahoma City (2 both on the road) and we are still the best team as of now. I think we actually could win it all this year. Butler finally looks like he is settled in, Marion is great in his role, we finally have a top notch defensive and rebounding center who makes this team a top 3 defensive team and Dirk has been the MVP this year. We'll have to wait and see but so far, so good.

Mavs are 11-1 on the road this year. Beat San Antonio, Orlando, Miami, Utah, OKC twice, Atlanta, Denver.... only road loss this season was a 2 point loss against the New Orleans Hornets.

Now I just hope Dirk is ok, we can cruise past the Raptors tomorrow night and everyone is back and healthy for the showdown with the Spurs on thursday night.

I know we say this every year but I really do think we can win it all this year. We FINALLY have a sure fire top notch big man. Chandler is a defensive MVP type player who gets everything out of the paint. Just wait til Roddy gets back. Butler has been an All Star as of late.

Exactly. We can praise or hate on the Mavs all we want but at the end of the day we all know the regular season is only for seeding purposes. We see the true character of a team during the playoffs, and until then anything we say about this Mavs team is really pointless.

exactly any player can perform in the regular season but the true championship teams have those players that step up in the playoffs and not dwindle.cant wait its already January just a few months away.

I agree with you to the T, we have all the pieces a true contender needs but we can only wait and see if they still play like this during the playoffs. Unfortunately some players tend to take a step back rather than go up a level once the playoffs start.

I'm so happy this season isn't all about the Lakers this year. The west's top 3 is SO much more competetive this year than the past. Mavs/Spurs/Lakers this year reminds me of Mavs/Suns/Spurs a few years back. That being said LA is still the team to beat and can easily turn up the heat at any moment during the season.

Good game out in Houston with John Wall finally back.

Yeah, thats the good thing about the NBA schedule as opposed to the NFL schedule and somewhat the MLB schedule. For the most part, every team in a conference ends up playing the same teams eventually.

That home heavy, awful team heavy schedule the Spurs have feasted on so far will eventually turn into a road heavy schedule filled with good teams. Then we'll see how good they really are.

You must've not been watching. His length alongside Pau has made the difference in many series the Lakers have won - including the wins over OKC to fight out of the first round.

And Durant looked great as usual tonight. He was outplaying Dirk in the 1st half.

Dirk had 13 points and only played about 1 1/4 quarters.... I doubt Kevin Durant outplayed him. He may of shot the ball more than Dirk shot, but 28 points in 39 minutes doesn't seem nearly as impressive as 13 in 12 minutes....

"Isn't that close" is a joke to any objective fan. Dirk's been lights out efficiency wise (better than ever), while KD has his generally slow start, but both of those are going to even out as the season progresses (already has in KD's aspect). The better defender of the two is clearly KD at this point.

You can make a case for either, but it's close.

KD had 16 points on 5-10 shooting (5-5 FT, 1-1 3pt) to go with 4 boards, a couple assists and 2stl + a block. I was watching the game, he was the best player on the court.

I watched the whole game also.

I dont have the quarter by quarter breakdown but he faded considerably if thats truly the case. If he had 16 points in 15 minutes and just 12 the rest of the game, thats not very impressive at all. Especially when you consider the game was right there for them to take with Dirk out.

Their defense improved with Dirk out and caused all of the Thunder some trouble (I'm sure you saw this if you watched the game). He still finished up 10-21 for 28 to maintain his league leading average. Not like he **** the bed at any point, Westbrook just couldn't find the hoop tonight.

Jrue Holiday with 23 and 11 assists and Elton Brand played great again.

16 and 16 tonight after something like 15 and 17 last night in the Denver win. He was already back in the points column, but it's nice to see high double digit rebounding from 1 guy on this team again.

Footnote: The Sixers play 30 of their 41 away games before the all star break, and are 8-2 in their last 10 home games. Expect a big 2nd half of the season for the Sixers. If they're still hovering around the 8th seed by the All Star break, they'll probably sneakily get to the 6th seed.

Footnote: The Sixers play 30 of their 41 away games before the all star break, and are 8-2 in their last 10 home games (all wins coming against teams with losing records). Expect a big 2nd half of the season for the Sixers. I agree. You guys' team defense has been suffocating to say the least. You guys keep that up and you should be in the Finals. Lakers don't scare me as much anymore, not because we beat them, bt because their age and lack of motivation and that Dallas and San Antonio are ridiculously great this year. Shud be interesting.

Bolded mine: As a follower of a downtrodden team, I feel it's my duty to set in some reality for you. The fall will be easier.

Jrue's 20 years old. Of course the turnovers will be there from time to time, that doesn't overshadow the rest of his game. And 3-4 of those TO's were because Turner / Meeks dropped the pass. Hawes was defending Lee 70% of the time. Trust me, I watched the game lol.

We decimated N.O and they don't have a losing record, nor does Portland, and a last second shot loss to Boston isn't bad either, but you know what they say you gotta play your schedule, and the Sixers beating the bad team somewhat goes to further prove my point that they aren't at that level of a team anymore.

Not a pipe dream at all when they started off 3-13 and the season is slowly getting better. I'm believing in Collins and think he has this team playing much better than last year, or even the beginning of this year. It's all improvement.
