Thought this would be fun. Don't play basketball in college but did in high school

The best players I played against in high school was:

Anthony Randolph, Woodrow Wilson high thankfully he didnt dunk on me haha
Willie Warren (Clippers currently if you dont know him), North Crowley high and I don't like him.
D'Walyn Roberts, Duncanville high (plays at Texas Tech currently) who was a top 10 player in Texas
Jermaine Beal, Desoto high that was a star for Vanderbilt last year

Andy Rautins/Andre Blatche/Brandon Triche. i didn't guard Rautins or Blatche but watched from the bench as they annihilated my highschool team. Triche dropped 35 on me. EDIT: in hindsight, it was one of the best days of my life

Pops Mensah-bonsu played on the same team as my brother. He actually wasn't even the best on the team, but was close. I remember all the alley oops.

Myron Rolle (NFL) - I went to elementary school and middle school with him. Played basketball with him and known him forever.

why is that? the only one i've seen that is at all unrealistic is the bulls fan who claims to have played with derrick rose. if all the players they have mentioned are from the same area and played in HS around the same time its really not that far fetched.

D-Rose played ball at Simeon which is part of the Chicago Public Schools, so if any Bulls fans around his age who played ball at a Chicago Public High School could've played against him and his team. I know my School played them but I didn't get to see him cuz I graduated from HS when he was a freshman.

I played against Chuck Hayes in junior high as well as a local gym when he came back home to visit during his years at Kentucky. A real super athlete who pretty much shut down whatever side of the floor defensively that he was on. He also dunked on me as he was coming down the lane but that's really only because I couldn't react fast enough to get out of the way.

I wasn't as old as them but I got to play and scrimmage with Tyrus Thomas, Brandon Bass, Big Baby, and Simone Augustus as a kid because my mother worked for the school system as a teacher and ran after school programs before and had to go check in on the different schools. It was something that was just for fun though and not for a high school or college team. They were in high school at the time (McKinley, Capitol, and LSU Lab) .

I got killed by them but I loved every minute of it.

I didn't actually play against him (because I was just called up to Varsity that week) but my High School (David Douglas in Oregon) played our rival Central Catholic, whose starting QB was Joey Harrington. He had like 4 TDs by halftime, and they were up like 35-7.

The funny thing is his dad, Dan Harrington (if I remember his first name correctly) was the Principal at our High School, and he still sent his son to the Private school Central Catholic. Very wierd...

i didnt play against them but Brady Quinn is from my hometown. Chris Quinn is also from my hometown and when he was still in high school, he was a volunteer basketball coach for my team when I was a little kid.

i played against Jared Sullinger 2 years ago. i was also playing for a summer league last year at my local rec center and 3 of the guys on this one team we played against are University of Dayton (OH) alumni who played for Daytons basketball team. i couldnt tell you their names but one of them was like 6'8 or 6'9 and at least 260 lbs. he looked like a defensive end. he must have been Daytons center.

oh and my high school team got slaughtered by Sullinger and we also got slaughtered by the Dayton team

it was awesome being on the court with them though, the rest of the competition my team played against in high school was awful (because I went to a friends school we played against mostly quaker school, but for some reason we played a couple elite teams).

When I used to work at FDU Zo Morning showed up a couple times to use our gym while rehabing. They shut down the gym, put a little fence around the court in case you considered approaching him while he was working out on the court, and let his crew's 5 SUVs park on the grass right outside the gym. The only one star I can remmember is we whooped up on cyprus creek when Andre Stoudmire was there. my senior year, our team was predicted to take state at one point but we lost to Haines city in the state final four. there tallest player was like 6'7. Our starting line up was like 6'2,6'5,6'6,6'11'6'10. My point being is we beat Stoudmire's team by like 20 points. Even though he scored over 40 points for his team. Only 4 of our players got scholarships. Florida Atlantic, Western kentucky, Texas State, and Stetson. WTF! All I could remember is how good our team was, but our PF who went to WKU was the only one who did anything. I think he is playing for a team in Germany.

Also While I was in middle school Vince Carter was running the floor in central florida. Our schools are in the same division. So I remember my friends dad taking me and him to see a game at our future high school. Carter was wrecking everything.

I played ball at The Colony High School from 98-02. I was on the same team as Deron Williams, we graduated together. He wasn't even the best player on our team, and he was 3rd in the state behind Bracey Wright (Indiana, Timberwolves, over-seas now), and Daniel Horton (Michigan, Miami Heat, who knows know). Bracey was the most amazing highschool player I've ever seen, he just didn't have the work ethic or the NBA body like Deron. Deron made people look stupid at the end of every quarter. I played DIII ball at a school called Austin College in Sherman TX, and I didn't even get off the bench my senior year. We played against Bosh, Horton, Brain Hopkins (SMU), Raymond Felton in the Murtle Beach Classic, Sebastion Telfair was there for Lincoln but we didn't play him. Deron smashed on Diogu in summer league one year, and it the NBA his rookie year. The talent in the DFW metroplex when I was growing up was ridiculous. There are tons of D1 guys I didn't even get to mention.

Luke Harangody- Notre Dame - Boston Celtics - Big East POTY - All-American.

E'twaun Moore - Purdue All-Big Ten - East Chicago Central

Dominic James - Marquette - Big East Freshman of the Year - I think he's overseas now.

Not quite the same as it was a pickup game but I played regularly at the gym when I was at the University of Michigan. My freshman year I had some pretty good players/friends that I regularly played with.

Every now and then the UoM bball team would come in and just take over one of the three courts and kick everyone off. One day some came in and decided to play at center court. We went head to head with a couple of walk-ons, Louis Bullock, Maurice Taylor and Travis Conlan.

We were beaten pretty well, but a week or two later we were able to take our frustrations out on a couple of starters from the girls varsity team. :D

Played pickup with this kid and some other random DI/II/junior college players a bunch of times. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=27723

I never knew the dude well, but he's close with a lot of my buddies that played high school in my area (I played for a long time, and they continued through AAU/high school). When he's back from playing whatever Euro league he's in over the summer (I know he's over there in some smelly nation somewhere, not sure where), they always create ridiculous gym-league teams for fun. Those games, I'm not up to par to play in (played another sport). But they're fun as hell to watch.

That's the closest to a popular player I've played against tho'. The kid is AMAZING though, feels like he'll hit 50 straight from downtown if you leave him open.

Khalid El-Amin...Looking at a chunky point guard, I thought he was all hype....Until he crossed me a few times and scored 33 against us...

I grew up in Oregon and played against a young Fred Jones. He could of course jump out of the gym, but was pretty raw at that point...not much of a shot but he dunked on our top center.

played against kevin garnett and ronnie fields in 1995 rock island high school vs. farragut. KG had like a quad druple double against us, and fields scored like all the rest but 3 points if i remember right. i believe KG did us for 31 lost by 1 that year. i was a guard and luckily wasnt posterized by him, but fields woulda been just as good before car wreck derailed his career. never got past CBA Rockford Lightning. Pete Michael did guard KG that day. i remember everyone going nuts over Pete when barcelona beat lakers in preseason. Yep same Pete that guarded Kobe and talked **** during PRESEASON game

I'm from Canada and played at a low level BUT I have played against some future NBAers.

Tristan Thompson who's playing for Texas right now. Also Anthony Bennett who's at Findlay Prep. I played against some guy named Jason Hannibal, but he's garbage. PLaying Uni ball somewhere in Portland I think.

Haha we were in a tournament in Seattle in the summer a while back, and we lost a our 2nd game which might've been a good thing, since the team we were gonna play next had Marvin Williams absolutely dominating... It was disgusting, at the time he was considered the best highschool player in the country, he was literally like 240 and this was when he was going into grade 12. Dunking all over everybody. If we had miraculously won that game and made it to the finals, we would've had to play against a team that had Martell Webster and Jonn Brockman I believe...good thing we lost

I also played against a couple guys that are the Canadian National and Jr. National team... Tyler Kepkay, think he goes to Utah, and Mangisto Arop at Gonzaga.

I played TeeBall with Horace Grant's son. Former Chicago Bull big man during the Michael Jordan Era. His son was about 5 feet tall at age 5. insane.

if someone doesn't know who Horace Grant was, they need to do a lot of homework to be credible on this site

gotcha. I played for Wayzata, in west Minneapolis. Obviously before your time a bit, but I remember El-Ahmin was 2 years behind my bro. That would make you 28-30 years old I guess

I played against a couple NBA players back in highschool. I was on an AAU team that went to the nationals in Tennesee. We played against David Lee, Al Jefferson, and Glen Davis in the Bracket.
Al Jefferson was 6'8 in like 10th grade it was sick. I had to gaurd him at 6'2! Probably one of the funniest experiences of my life. I stripped him when he was driving and my team called it a block because he was soo much bigger then me. Glen Davis played Point Gaurd for his AAU team and he was like 6'5 and muscular. The tournament nicknamed him Baby Shaq.

A.J. Price was alright but I was most impressed with the other two. Danny Green I also played against for about 5 years. We were connected to his catholic school program St. Marys so we played against him a lot. He tried out for our AAU team and decided not to play because he was going to a nike league that summer.

I also played in a tournament in Vegas with an older AAU team and we got destroyed by David Lee.
Other NBA players we played with would be Wally Sczerbiak and Lavar Postell. My coach was an ex SJU player so they would come down to our practices on saturdays and scrimmage with us. This was before they made it to the NBA.
I also played for my highschool basketball team and we ran into A.J. Price in the Long Island Championship game.
