The NBA decided to clean every one team and started a draft of all the NBA players and incoming rookies? Who would go 1st overall and do u think this would be good for the league if this did happen? It would be like 2k11 in real life.

#1 would be either Dwight or Lebron

That would not be fair to the teams that already have good players.

That's why its a what if and It kinda is since all the teams will have an empty roster and really it would be a new era in the NBA. It would be a lottery of all the teams to see who will get the 1st pick. It would indeed shake the sports world up.

That would be soooo cooool lol. I don't think Kobe would even get drafted in first round due to age. Number one overall would be LeBron unless the GM didn't like the way he left Cleveland. In that case I would be Durant or Dwight. I would love to have the 32/33 pick.

Plus i think u can still build a well balanced team this way with the amount of talent in the league 2day. 13 rounds everyone not picked will be a free agent and free to sign anywhere they want.

Are you implying Rose is a top 10 player in the NBA?!?!:speechless:

I'd take Russel Westbrook over him and he isn't even top 10.

It would be awesome, it will never happen but I would love it. Every team would at least be competitive.

No im picking him cuz i cant see Rose in another uniform other than a Bulls one thats why im picking him if i have the number one pick im taking Howard, Lebron, or Durant. 5 thru 10 im taking Rose based on talent level and upside.

Yea it would every team that picks in the 1st round would at least have a franchise player or a top 32 player in the league.

Yeah and even the teams that draft later in the first round would still be good because they would get to pick high in the 2nd round. And I'm sure there would still be a lot of talented guys in the 2nd round.

Yea could u imagine a player like John Wall falling to the 2nd round! but somebody would reach because there are 32 players better than him but he might get picked in the 1st cuz of his upside. And I think Kobe would still go in the top 10.

With the first pick in the post lockout NBA draft...the Los Angeles Clippers select: MIKE JAMES!!!

Cleveland would get the 1st pick and do an ESPN special saying, "We have decided Lebron James will be taking his talents to Cleveland".

Not to mention with rookies coming in like Harrison Barnes and Kyrie Irving getting picked in the later rounds. It would be 1st 5 rounds filling in your starting five later rounds bench.

Kobe would go mid first round someone would reach, Pau would go top ten. Odom might crack end first round and maybe Bynum too.

12-09-2010, 06:39 PM
This would be a good thread to have people create their 1st round mock, in their opinion. Like if you were starting a team, who would you take for your 1st building block?

A guy like Kobe might not be as high as you think, because why would you take someone who maybe has a year or maybe 2 at most of playing at a high level, when you could grab someone who will be able to do that for 8+ more years?

So it wouldnt be a "best 30 players in the game" go in the 1st round. I might post mine later.

I would get into the NBA if things were more balanced and it didnt seem like the league wanted certain teams to always win. Make it like the NFL in the sense that as they say "any given sunday". That is just my opinion.

Every team would have to get to keep 2 players they get to keep cause it's not fair for teams like OKC,Lakers,Dallas,Miami,Boston and Orlando who have a deep roster to lose everyone. So i think if they could do franchise tags were the team gets to pick two players...Pau and Kobe, Westbrook and Durant...etc. Then it would be awesome to see how teams shape up and I think it would even out talent around the league.

And they should have to re do it every 5-6 years. To keep it interesting. And you can only franchise tag a person for one max contract..which will be reduced in price. and not 20 million like 12-14 max is the highest it should go. Where smaller teams and bigger teams can all have the same budget.

xxplayerxx23
12-09-2010, 08:25 PM
great idea. I think its fair lol. I think it would be cool if you can keep one guy from your current roster. who would LA choose. I still think it would be kobe even with his age.

Jaji
12-09-2010, 08:34 PM
It depends. If its Cleveland, Durant. Any other team: LeBron. Clearly Dan Gilbert doesn't want a guy like LeBron on his team because he called him a quitter. No one would offer a person they consider a quitter a max deal would they?

Haha 2k11 style but the only difference is I can't reset the game if my team doesn't get a top 5 pick lol

If the owners get their way this might not be far from the truth. They want a 33% salary reduction and a hard cap, with no grand fathering in. For instance, there has been talk of the Heat having to sell of a contract.

This has been when of the best opens to a season in the last decade and everyone will screw it up. Learn the NHL lesson.

NYKalltheway
12-09-2010, 09:13 PM
Well, to make it seem more fair, every team should be allowed to keep ONE player.

Who would that be? Also I have to say that each round should have a different draw, with Top 5 teams of previous round not being allowed to receive Top 5 picks in next round. (damn I wish there was an editor for NBA2k11 :D)

#1 pick as said by the rest would be between Lebron, Howard and Durant. I'd take Howard. You can replace Durant and Lebron to some extent, but as for Howard, the next player is way off.

Really? I still think Kobe would be at least taken in the first despite his age he still has a good 4 or 5 years in him and a dominant 2-3.

It could if the League is looking to go in a new direction and feels that teams are too unbalanced. So i dont think it deserves a . Plus i think this would help with money problems as well.

I would hate it as a bulls fan and as a fan of many teams who have built up their franchises over the years. as for you question, first pick would go to NY, becuase David Stern would rig the lotery.

next, the NY knicks would pick the one and only Lebron james.

Next would be Chicago or LA, some other big name city, becuase this would be better for the nba. I think the next player that goes would be dwight.

after that, the list keeps doing untill you leave the ****** small market teams to pick the leftovers.

If it happened and it was done fairly. It would be nice but I would hate to loose Tyreke Evans and Cousins. I can only imagine how good they will be in 2 years or so, but the idea of some one like Lebron or Durant in a Kings jersey is very intriguing.

Crazy idea that makes little sense.

Basically every player in the league isn't going to agree to uproot their family and move all around to scrub franchises with poor management and coaches (see: clippers, raptors, etc..).

Never going to happen.

Of course it had to be a Heat fan coming in here and screwing up what clearly is a "fantasy" thread.
