-Biggest Thug in the NBA
-Every team he's been on has been losing except the Grizzlies. (Lucky he got dumped to the grizzlies for q-rich because clips got the #1 pick which was expected to be blake griffin)

More like a 3 years 40M

So he's saying that he wants to be in the USA team ahead of someone out of Kevin Love, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, Lamar Odom, Tim Duncan(maybe) heck even Blake Griffin?

Man there's some haters in here.

I dont like him, but look at his numbers. He deserves an extension. He's been more or less a 20/10 player for 7 straight years.

i was just about to say something, He is a good player He is a thug but there are plenty of them in the NBA nO offense to the celtics or you but look at west :) Randolph deserves like 3 years 53 to 57 mill IMO

what do you not like about the contract the three years or the 57 million he is the number two option on that team IMo behind gay and he has gasol on his team too and yet he still puts up 20 and 10 at least every year. I think he will get that inm the open market and should get it from memphis.

I know right!?
My man has been putting very good numbers up consistently for years.
Too many cats try to judge these NBA players based on what they heard when A. you shouldn't judge and B. what you hear isn't always true!

but yeah, I would love to have him on the Pistons, but we would probably do more of a 4yr 50ish deal.

3 years 57 is insane. More than Boozer & Lee and pretty much the same as Amare. If people say Amare was overpaid well then theres no words for Z-bo. He worth something around 3 & 36-39m. Fact is he puts up good numbers, but his teams rarely win and if they do win its just squeaking in as an 8th seed.

Ya and Mike James put up huge numbers with the Raptors simple cases of good/average players getting more of an opportunity on bad teams. How many playoffs games are in there for him? If he hasnt helped a team win now how is that going to change. Not to mention his attitiude

xbrackattackx
12-07-2010, 12:24 PM
He's a scorer and grabs rebounds. He is at least 20 and 10 every night. I like the guy and think he is actually underrated. Haters carry on.

He is a good 20/10 player but you cant be sure giving him that much money he may suck again.
As for team USA, no way he makes it. And im pretty sure Blake Griffin is a lock for team USA

MrfadeawayJB
12-07-2010, 01:00 PM
I think at his age he should get boozer money...if we overpay him and give him gasol money it will hamper the franchise for years...gasol and randolph are a great offensive tandem, but horrible on the defensive end...i personally think if he really wants that big 3 yr 57 mil paycheck, he will have to find it elsewhere(dont see management losing another gasol)

they may do a sign and trade with him/ any takers?

I hope they do this so they have to trade Mayo.

If the Grizz give him what he wants, they're ********. He's worth like 10-11 Mill. a year. I wouldn't take him on my team cause of his past but look at his numbers. He's a beast.

he's 17 & 9 for his career... not that close.

Has he ever been on a good team? I mean look at MEM, they have talent, why aren't they winning? Not blaming Randolph entirely, but having watched him for 1+ years play on my Knicks, his style of play isn't very conducive to winning. Sure he scores and rebounds, but he needs the ball alot and holds it alot, doesn't play any defense, and is not a very good passer. If I were building a team I'd take Lee over him. Similar production, much better passer, and doesn't need the ball to be effective. Lee only gets $13m per year, Z-bo isn't worth $19.

with below average offensive ratings, and terrible win shares, meaning he is not helping his team at all with those numbers. His TS% for someone of his usage is outright bad, and he is really just a chucker. He does work on the glass better than average, but there is NO WAY he needs $19 million per season. No way.

And as far as Team USA, there are a bunch of guys way ahead of him on the totem pole. Sorry Zach.

12-07-2010, 03:27 PM
Him asking for almost 20 mil a year is insulting. The Grizz barely fill up the stands, and aren't even a playoff team.

I understand he is very much the heart of the team... he does the things that give them an edge... but they aren't winning. You can not invest 57 million into any player without him being a franchise player, or an important piece of a championship level team... Z Bo is neither.

Memphis, cut your ties. If he wants that type of money let him try elsewhere.

You guys are making it seem like he's a cancer. I've watched plenty of Grizzles games and I could first hand tell you he's very good. He gets about 4 offensive rebounds per game and is a solid post scorer. He will absolutely get 13M per season somewhere at the very least. We all know bad teams over pay and a good post player is hard to come by. On the flip side I don't see anyone paying 19M per season over 3 years. Especially with the CBA around the corner this coming season. The Grizzles will no doubt wait til next season when player salaries will be reduced by about 1/3 of what they're getting paid now.

ZBo needs to stay in Memphis, but not at 3/57. I'd do 3/45 in a heartbeat. WHEN he comes to play, and there have been some less than glam performances from him lately, he IS the difference is our winning. Heisley cannot fail to see this. But talk about a stubborn man! Heisley takes the cake. Hope we keep Zach but NOT, I repeat NOT at the expense of losing Marc.

greg anthony and kenny smith (NBA TV) said it best last nite......

he is a great player on subpar teams.
what would he really bring to a team in contention.

last nite line......34pts (14 for 19) & 17 rebounds......

those are nice numbers. i know it was against the Suns with no interior defense, but i will say this.......i think he can avg 18and10 a contender.
that would be worth about 10-12mil a year. give him a 3 year deal with a team option on the 3rd year.

regarding his attitude......well, I'm no judge, but it seems that he has had issues in the past, but in watching him play, he is always competitive and listens to the coach.......at the end of the day, thats what counts.

LeBron and Dwyane Wade are getting paid about 4 million less than the extension Randolph supposedly wants. 19 million per is an awful lot of money for a guy that's only averaging 17 points a game and has consistency issues.

ankit
12-09-2010, 03:31 PM
I think thats too much money for Randolph but if a small market team like memphis wants him they have to pay him.I mean he is a consistent 20-10 guy. The deal too is a short 3 years not like johnson excessive 6 years contract. I think however the Griz need to trade Mayo.

12-09-2010, 03:33 PM

Honeslty, with the contracts owners are willing to pay these days. I wouldn't be all that suprised. It's been crazy in every sport. Crawford just got a 7 year 142 million dollar deal....now MLB players are making as much as NBA players eventhough they are only 1/53 of their team.

If Im not mistaken their are only about 4 or 5 players who have been legit 20 and 10 for their entire career and he's one of them.

It should also be noted he recently stated that he'd be fine even if they wanted to wait until next summer to negotiate and that he just wants to stay in Memphis.....

Zack is a monster, But I've never seen a player who so willingly get's out of the way on defense.

At what he does, he's one of the best in the NBA, at what he doesn't do, he's the worst.

And he looks like Eddie Winslow.:D
