The Celts have his rights. They control where he plays if he decides to come back.

His contract was bought out, so Sheed can sign wherever he wants.

A starting lineup of Rose, Iggy, Melo, Boozer and Dwight with Deng, Noah, Taj, Brewer and Korver offa the bench seems like an alright team.

I wouldn't say that, I was surprised to hear he was retiring last year. He kept the Celtics in last years game seven hitting big shot after big shot. He could absolutely help out whoever he decides to sign with. I'd love him with the Lakers just so Boston and Miami wouldn't sign him; he'd never come to LA though.

I'm not sure where people are getting the "Sheed to Miami" from, but I certainly wouldn't mind having his mentality, hustle and shooting abilities on the team.

Sheed and hustle in the same sentence? Ruh-oh, Shaggy.

He's been at a bunch of Celtic games so far this season, and supposedly he was in attendance to watch a lot of training camp as well. I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see the C's sign him depending on our big man situation at the all star break.

With Perk coming back, that makes it unlikely, though.

I'm actually surprised the 'HEAT' haven't tried to sign him yet.

I think he should end his career where he basically it started. He made a name for himself in Portland.

Blazers needs bigs in a bad way as well.

Sheed and hustle in the same sentence? Ruh-oh, Shaggy.

He used to hustle more than enough when he was with Detroit. I didn't pay a lot of attention to him when he was with Boston, so Idk what happened there, but he always used to be the kind of played with the on-court smarts you hate when he is on the opposing team. I know he annoyed the hell out of me during the years of the little Miami/Detroit feud.

Corey

Yea, he's just not exactly the first player I think of when I hear 'hustle'.

You have to take the good with the bad when judging Sheed as a player. He's a guy that could have been one of the most dominant players of all time if he wasn't so lazy. Great shooter for his size, great post defender when he challenged himself, but he never really took his talent to that next level.

At this point, he's a bit too in love with the 3pt shot, and shies away from playing in the post on offense. He's a solid rebounder, but nothing special. He has minimal lift left, which is expected.

That being said, I have no idea what kind of shape he is in. There were a lot of stories that came out last year that said he'd have a 6 pack of beer waiting for him after each home game. I highly doubt he's in basketball shape, or anywhere close to it now that he's not practicing every day -- but again, that's pure speculation.

sheed's only good if he's motivated otherwise he's trash. you live and die by his three pointers

The Celts have his rights. They control where he plays if he decides to come back.

The Celtics actually waived him while they were waiting on his word to retire or not. So he is unrestricted.

Boston could use him, the Spurs, Lakers, and Mavs. He's great on D, he's got a jumper, can pass, and with his back issues, will likely be fine with back-up minutes. Draw backs? When his team falls behind, he's to quick to start hoisting up threes.

i was convinced last year that sheed was the worst player getting significant minutes in the nba, he was just a chucker for the whole reg season.

I wouldnt want him back on the celts. For him to coast all year, hell alll playoffs then decide to show up for the last 2 games of the season really made me lose all respect for him. He has an elite post game that he doesnt even use, instead he'd rather float out at the 3 point line and hit 3s at a 20% clip

I thought I remembered some teams offering him a 1 year deal and he declined them deciding to retire. I guess no one knows what to do with all the free time post retirement anymore :D

DreamShaker

He would be a good fit in Miami. They could use his post game (even though he tends to shy away from it) and his ability to knock down the 3 ball. He would also immediately be the best defensive big guy they had.

I know, right? It's either TV, coaching, management, or multiple comebacks for these guys it seems. I don't really blame them, sports doesn't easy to transition from. And nobody really wants to feel washed up in their 30's.

If Sheed had anything to offer, he would be signed by now.

And with the new tech rule, he would be ejected almost every game.

wouldn't have mattered since he'll get so many technicals, he'll end up being suspended more than playing.

Sheed saying "I need a job" may not mean that he wants to play. A lot of players fall into assistant type roles. He may want a job on the coaching staff.

Frrrrank!!!

I was gonna say, even if he does comeback I can't see him lasting long with the new tech rules.

If he comes back, I'm guessing he'll return to Boston. Pierce said in the off-season that he talked with Rasheed about him coming back in February.

He's probably out-of-shape, he never looked too good coming into a season, he had to work at it throughout the season to get into shape for the playoffs, sort of like Shaq.

He only retired because of the new technical rule. He will come back in Feb before the deadline, start with zero techs and not have to worry about being suspended come playoff time.

Very true. Retiring when your 36 leaves a very big hole in your life of "now what".. But I'd go coach somewhere personally.

I actually think he fits best with the Knicks who need a Center and D'Antoni loves the 3 ball which is Sheeds biggest weapon. Next to Amare I think it could work.

Why not the Knicks, he lives in philly and he always wanted to play for us any way. Plus he likes to hit 3"s all day.
