I've never been a Larry Bird fan. But Duncan is the rock of his franchise. For me it's an easy pick. TD gives you stability inside that few franchises have the luxury of. You can build really well around that.

For today's game, I'd have to go with Duncan.

I think with Duncan his prime last longer, but Bird's peak was better.

I will go with Tim Duncan, he is arguably the best power forward ever to play the game.

Ya and Bird is arguably top 5 all-time.

Honestly I'm not sure its really hard to pass up either of them. I would give Bird the edge though.

A big like Duncan is much rarer than a wing like Larry...

Can you really call Bird a wing? The man averaged 24 and 10 along with 6 asg for his career. That is PF numbers.

I've never been a Larry Bird fan

Because you never saw him, or because you don't like his game?

It's a tough poll. There are the #3 and #4 on my starting team, so I can't really pick, but I can't imagine anyone interested in the history of the NBA not being a very big Bird fan...

Actually now that I think about it. Bird is more rare then Duncan. You have KG, McHale, Malone, Barkley...

To call bird a wing or #3 is a disservice, look at his passing and rebounding. There is no #3 in the history of the game with as diverse a skill set as Bird. None.

Change my vote to Bird

FYI: My all time starting 5 is:

Hakeem
Duncan
Bird
Jordan
Magic
