View Full Version : What if the Heat traded the ENTIRE big three?

It would NEVER happen, but just think of the bounty they could bring in if they decided to trade the entire big three. That could make a legitimate super team. Just for fun, I thought up three trades to make this work:

Miami trades SF LeBron James to Los Angeles (Clippers) for PF Blake Griffin, SG Eric Gordon, SF Al Farouq Aminu and unprotected 2011 and 2013 first round picks.

Miami trades SG Dwyane Wade to Golden State for PG Stephen Curry, C Dan Gadzuric Biedrins, PF Brandon Wright, and top 5 protected 2011 first round pick

Miami trades PF Chris Bosh to Indiana for C Roy Hibbert, SF Paul George, PG T.J Ford, and unprotected 2011 and 2013 first round picks.

Given the cap room they'd receive from Gadzuric and Ford, this team could get even stronger. I know this would never happen, but wow if Miami did this... I don't even know what to say. It's all speculatory, what kind of team do you think Miami could put together if they decided to trade the entire big three.

DISCLAIMER: This is NOT a Heat bash thread. If you want that you won't find it here. I'm just curious as to what kind of team the Heat could put together IF they decided to trade the entire big three and start from scratch.

Gotto keep one or two. I would stick with Wade and Bosh, and ship Lebron out. Lebron is slowly becoming poison to whatever team he goes to. Wade and Bosh can do good things together in Miami.

Personally I wouldn't give up Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon and A-F Aminu PLUS picks for LeBron, I would even hesitate trading Griffin for LeBron straight up.

That team would be amazing in two years and most likely better then the current Heat team will ever be.

Wade for CP3? They should have kept DC.

Pierzynski4Prez
11-30-2010, 06:53 PM
I don't think you'd get that much value back for LBJ or Wade. Considering where their contracts are going for the next 5 years after this, they would prevent those teams from doing a lot themselves.

Curry and Griffin are going to be studs, if not already. I think just cap relief and picks would be sufficient to add to those guys, not + Eric Gordon and Aminu and two 1st rounders, or + Wright, Biedrins and a 1st rounder.

Too much to give up if you ask me, especially for an injury prone wade. But I do like the idea.

This isn't a stupid thread. It's an interesting concept and the fun of sports is discussing the hypotheticals.

No need to take it so seriously.

I agree, but if it did happen maybe miami could have a legitimate inside scorer. Imo griffin will be better than bosh by next year.

For people making facepalms and what not, just don't post in this thread. It's an entirely hypothetical scenario, what could the Heat get for the big three. I know it wouldn't happen, I'm just curious. If you don't like a thread just don't post in it.

they could probably put together a better, more compatible, playoff type (7 game series) of team then they currently have. although if they keep just 2 of them and trade one for a bunch of good solid role players it would be better.

dwade for monta ellis and stephen curry,

lebron for blake griffen and eric gordon

bosh & mike miller for noah & deng

ellis
curry
deng
griffen
noah

that would be worth it for the future.

You package Bosh in something. Get him out so you can get a PG or legit C.

A lot of people are knocking this thread but its a hypothetical - the whole deal is "if." And quite frankly it could happen down the road if they don't work out in Miami.

Trade Wade to LA for Griffin and Smith; trade Bosh to Sacto for Cousins and Casspi; and have Aminu and Thompson packaged with Chalmers for Curry and Amundsen. Trade Lebron to Memphis for Mayo and Gasol. With whatever else going wherever else.

Curry
Mayo
Casspi
Griffin
Gasol/Cousins

why do you have to face palm anything that has to do with the heat? I know this is a far fetched Idea, but still. you act like this could happen, its just discussion as this is a sports forum. I bet anything eventually you'll wanna trade one of the guys, you face palm him now, but you face palmed me on when i said spoelstra wasnt a good coach over a month ago and now your saying the same thing I said a month ago, but im not gonna say I told you so.

Heat arnt the big 3 thats boston second clippers would never trade that much for lebron
i could see griffin and maybe gordon but i doubt it more like aminu and griffin third this is pointless for all teams

but i do think if miami traded lebron and bosh they could get some good value and depth back or wade and bosh but you gotta keep one of lebron or wade

i would send bosh anthony and another player to denver get melo anderson harrington back

C Anderson/BIGZ/DAMPIER
PF Harrington/HASLEM
SF LEBRON
SG MELO
PG WADE

i love how when some one makes a thread about their opinion on the heat(and its somewhat feasible), its always the heat fans that always say dumb **** like

"biggest waste of a thread ever"
"this is the dumbest thing i ever heard" or etc. theres a key word in his post called IF. what IF the heat traded the entire big three? oh, and i'll let you in on a secret. if you dont like a thread,

don't post in it.

Why are people so quick to bash? It's so annoying and immature.

To the original poster, I actually think it's a pretty cool idea. You should include the final lineup in your post as well.

I think the trades the OP suggested are a little to much...but it is a good question. Miami has 2 superstars, and a borderline 3rd. They could get the most amazing young team ever.

RCarlson85
11-30-2010, 09:15 PM
why though??? the Heat arent that good..

First of all, it's been 18 games. As slow of a start as they've had, they're only 3 games behind the Celtics. Even if this doesn't work out like everyone thought, there is no way in hell they're trading all 3 of them. I've seen other threads that mention who would they trade if they were to trade one player. That makes a little more sense and could be something worth speculating about, but all 3...no way. Absolutely pointless.
