Any chance at a bounce back year? What do you all think?

I feel like he has the talent, but because he is such a headcase, I think he'll fail to be a big impact player next year. If he's lucky, I think he'll play around 120 games, almost all at DH.

I think he does have a bounce back year. 120 games seems right. .290/.376/.555 20-25 homeruns and 80-95 RBIs. Cleveland seem like a perfect fit for Manny at DH.

He'll play at rogers centre being a DH and will mash like manny can mash. The team is all about dingers baby im looking for 30+ slobberknockers and 80 rbi's. Oh yeah!!!! got my jersey already Yeah!!!!

Manny's good for only singles and walks.

It all depends on where he signs. I think Manny still has some gas in the tank. He still has great on base skills and as a Dh he will stay healthier. I want to hear what he is doing in the offseason to get in better shape first before making any real prediction.

Its funny cause people saying he had an "off" year and maybe by his standards he did, but even him in an off year or aging years is still a 3-4-5 hitter on probably every team.

I think he is more of a .290/.410/.530 type hitter this next season. Higher on base, lower slugging.

What did you base that off of?

If he plays at Rogers Centre, I can see him hitting 35+ home runs as a DH.

His OBP has been over .400 the last 3 seasons, and is over .400 for his career.

I think hes still a really good hitter.

He will have no motivation in Chicago, i don't see it

He will have motivation where ever he goes because he will only get a contract filled will performance based incentives. If he wants to get paid, he has to earn it.

All depends on the ballpark.

In Citizens Bank Park, he'd probably succeed.

Petco, probably spells the end of his career.

I think if he played here the park would help but so would Manuel... Manuel seems to get the best out of everyone the majority of the time and most offensive players love to play for him... Manny coming here with our fan base and our talent would be a win... If we were to lose Werth I think Manny could easily fill that production on the offensive end... Maybe Find a way to get Ibanez out of here and put Manny there. I would love this Line up

Rollins
Polanco
Utley
Howard
Manny
Victorino
Brown
Ruiz

Here as in Philadelphia... I figured there were several hints that would help people come to the conclusion... Throwing out the phillies line up being 1... Manuel being 2. Putting him in the Phillies line up being 3.... and the post I responded to talking about him being in citizens bank park being number 4 :D

First off that line up is hilarious, would never happen - even if AA leaves the roster the same as it is from today till spring (plus manny). which is VERY unlikely. I think he attacks a 1b option that would be better than manny like an adam laroche, and if it doesnt work out then look for manny as a 2nd option. for fun tho....

Davis - LF
Escobar - SS
Bautista - 3B
Manny - DH
Wells - CF
Lind - 1B
Hill - 2B
Snider - RF
JPA - C

The fact that they want Jose in the outfield so bad tells me they have a plan in place to ether flop davis or trade snider to try to get an impace 3B. Thoughts?

The chances of a NL team taking him are slim and none, closer to none.

IF, and that is a BIG IF, Toronto will put up with him, I think he could have a great year as a full time DH playing in the launching pad...35 HR's not out of reach. also might give him some motivation playing 25 or so games against the Red Sox too...

Jeffy25

Pujols was an advocate in getting him in STL a couple of years ago.

But since he can't DH in the NL, I would assume there is basically no chance of landing him.

Could he be next seasons Beltre or a Nick Johnson.

In the right situation (on a high OBP AL team as a DH for 120 games, if healthy), I could see him having a 'AL Comeback Player of the Year" type season... 35+HRs is not out of the question....

Oh the Jays and Sox will play in the ALCS? Because it's 19 games regular season. And BTW do you expect Manny to play 155+ games?

The Yanks don't want him either, and he's a local, does that make him play hard against them as well?

If it was just about hitting, how could you go wrong? But the rest of package is rotted from the head down. Take down extra insurance on the traveling secretary too.
