If you could redo the first 10 picks of the NBA draft after seeing what these rookies can do in their first few games in the league, and also based on potential what changes would you make? (Assume the rosters were the same as at the time of the draft).

Actual 2010 Draft results:

1. WAS- John Wall
2. PHI- Evan Turner
3. NJ- Derrick Favors
4. MIN- Wesley Johnson
5. SAC- Demarcus Cousins
6. GS- Epke Udoh
7. DET- Greg Monroe
8. LAC- Al-Farouq Aminu
9. UTA- Gordon Hayward
10. IND- Paul George

My 2010 Redraft:

1. WAS- John Wall
2. PHI- Derrick Favors
3. NJ- Landry Fields
4. MIN- Evan Turner
5. SAC- Demarcus Cousins
6. GS- Al-Farouq Aminu
7. DET- Wesley Johnson
8. LAC- Eric Bledsoe
9. UTA- Greg Monroe
10. IND- Armon Johnson

If you picked Landry Fields, you would've gotten laughed at and fired. Also NJ doesn't need a SF. Is this just a thread for us to praise Fields?

The Pg corp isn't as strong this year. It's sad how Portland got the second best point on the 34th pick :d

Honestly, it's a bit premature to have one of these this early. It hasn't even been two months into the season yet.

wait another year or 2.

first off, it's way too early for this kinda thread. 2nd, you are simply a Nicks fan here to praise Landry. i agree he is having a good rookie season but comeon men! # 3 when no one even knew his name>.. your fellow nick fans would have booed along with u

If we took all the rookies away and really re-drafted... Fields still wouldn't go #3 (especially when it comes to players like Turner and Cousins). That's not even a debate. This thread is also a little premature into the season. It's funny because literally 2 minutes ago I was posting in the Knicks forum about how much I like Landry but let's pump the brakes a little bit. :)

From the 15 or so games these players have played so far this season...

1. John Wall
2. Derrick Favors
3. DeMarcus Cousins
4. Evan Turner
5. Landry Fields
6. Wes Johnson
7. Eric Bledsoe
8. Al-Farouq Aminu
9. Xavier Henry
10. Armon Johnson

15 games is way too small of a sample size to make any sort of judgement though, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Of course in the long run, i'm pretty sure Wes Johnson will be a better player than Landry Fields, but from what i've seen so far Fields has played better.

its a redraft, meaning who they would pick now, not who they should have picked in the draft. But yea too early for this and Fields probably still wouldn't go in top 3 or top 5. He's been the 3rd best rookie this season, but there are still guys who figure to have a better career in the long run.

Wayy to early to judge the 2010 draft. This thread would be better for the 2008 draft instead.

no, its a redraft meaning who they would pick now based on what they have seen. They also have to consider potential. I wouldn't draft Fields if I had a top 10 pick.

Landry Fields is a 15-25 pick you have to look at upside aswell as age, Landry Fields will be what he is today his entire career. Averaging 10 pts a game is not worthy of a top 5 pick.

cool thanks for letting us know...

yea you're right though, 22 year old rookies rarely ever improve.

I just never understood this thinking. Why cause he played 4 years of college? Do you realize most guys back in the day went to school for 4 years. Will Evan Turner improve? Cause they are the same age. Will Wesley Johnson improve? Cause he is one year older than Fields. Did a guy like Danny Granger improve from his rookie season? Cause he was the same age as Fields as a rookie. I think you get my point cause it goes on and on. The kid just turned 22 this summer. Most guys don't reach their prime til 25-30 and just cause this kid was a 2nd round pick doesn't mean he can't improve and don't make me list all the 2nd rounders who were 4 year players who became really good players and in some cases All-stars. Since we are talking about a Knick, I will give you one more 4 year player who was picked 30th in 2005. David Lee. Did he improve from his rookie year? Fields so far looks better than Lee did his rookie season. Enough said.

I'm a huge knick fan, but to say landry would be picked third is absurd. Realistically he would probably go in the 10-15 range, which is pretty impressive for a guy who was not on many top 100 boards. However to say he won't improve is dumb as well, the nba has this fascination with extremely young players because they think they can be groomed but fact is most of the time that doesn't work out. Landry is a very smart and underratedly athletic player who should develop a more steady jumper and be learn the defensive end better because the effort on defense is there but it will take time.
