Congrats Hambone:clap:

Ah well, I was wanting and hoping for it to be Miggy, but I'm definitely not surprised that Josh won it. Congrats to him, Miggy'll win it next year, what with the entire offseason gearing towards making teams actually have to pitch to him.

So happy for Josh, what an amazing year he had. I hope we can get him out of CF and keep him healthy.

Miss the most important month of the season and still a MVP, not a fan of this

Good for Josh. Aside from the Gold Gloves, most of the 2010 awards have been spot on.

They got the winners perfect. When was the last time they did that

As a Tigers fan I'm a little disappointed Miggy didn't get it but I'm not gonna "rain on anybodys parade", congrats Josh Hamilton! What a feel good story for him though, from all the problems he had to winning the AL MVP.

How is the month he missed more important when we had the division in hand? How about the months he carried this team and was the best offensive player in baseball?

Well, not counting the GG, of course.

Take out Hamilton in that Rangers line up and they're probably still a 1st place team with Cruz, Guerrero, Kinsler, Young, and Andrus. Take Cabby out of Detroit's line up and we have probably the worst team in the A.L.

Games in April are worth the same as games in September.

I dont care if Hamilton had a better team than Cabrera. In terms of wins i think Hamilton was more valuable.

Isn't this why they have separate MVP and best-hitter awards? Let one guy win one, and the other guy win the other.

I think Miggy and Pujols was the way to go for the MVP. But the postseason plays a big role.

Screwed Jeter again. First the NL MVP and now the AL. Voters suck.

Hat's off to Josh Hamilton on the MVP and the Rangers on a great year. His story shows the good that can come out of sports and life in general. Great job!

This just in: Games in September count twice as much as those in April.

I don't know about perfect, but at least there were no travesties like the second best player on a team winning (I'm looking at you Howard, Morneau :pity:).

lol

Thanks for your input.

That's a reflection on Detroit, not on either player. Hamilton was a better player on a better team.

Hamilton will most likely never repeat this season, but this is well deserved. I just wish they would have waited to announce this and let the Miz have his time in the spotlight after winning the title ha. In all seriousness he is the only guy that should have won this.

Based on....?

I doubt he can sustain a .390 BABIP again. I'm not saying he will be useless, but I doubt he's worth 8 wins ever again.

i agree with the ball in play average, but I think he will be worth his 6.0 WAR again, which is what he actually had.

He had a 5.4 in 2008.

And he did that 6.0 in a partially injured season.

Well coaches and managers vote on those. The BBWAA got everything they were responsible for right.

So glad that trophy sits alone on a mantle with no Championship. All or nothing.

Yep, and you'll probably be dealing with em for a few days, till after Thanksgiving at least, till we get to complain about how the refs will screw the Lions out of another W. (At least that whining'll be somewhat legit.)

I wanted Miggy to win it, and I hoped that Miggy would win it, but I'm neither surprised or angry that Hamilton won it. He did deserve it, it's just that Miggy could have deserved it too. They both had great years, and it really could have gone either way. The way I see it, Maggs was more deserving of the MVP he was robbed of in 2007, than this year with Hamilton winning it over Cabby.
