BONNER!

Say about him what you want, but even though most of his looks are wide open, BONNER! is draining almost 70% of his threes (!!!) from the field.

My gawd...that's just crazy. It's pick your poison with the Red Rocket on the floor. Either leave BONNER! open to fire away or clamp down on him on the perimeter, leaving the lane open for slashers like RJ, Manumanumanu! and Parker.

BONNER! has been a big reason why the Spurs have the best record in the league.

I know this should be in the Spurs forum, but 70% percent on THREES is still worth mentioning.

yeah dude is on fire from downtown but i'm not sure if his 9 ppg is the big reason the Spurs are winning. IMO their backcourt (Parker, Ginobili, Jefferson and especially Chris Quinn) has a lot to do with it.

btw how about Carlos Arroyo shooting 64% from downtown? I think that's the reason why Miami is struggling. Damn Carlos

Yea it's 70%, but it is also on 26 shots... that will change dramatically as the season goes on.

Yea but games like last night, He was four from four and the other night it was like 5 for 7 I think. Thats still ridiculously good.

Yea and your point??? One bad game(1-6 3pt) will drop him 10% and 2 bad ones drop him to 50%; yea he has been hot, but come on its a tiny sample. This is like a baseball player batting .420 2wks in, it's nice, but unrealistic.

And if he has a 6-6 game it goes up

Just enjoy it
I'm pretty sure this was made with a hint of humor

Fair enough

I sometimes have a problem with outrageous claims that truly have no relevance in the the grand scheme of things, but yea they are fun, GO BONNER

I wasn't disagreeing, I was saying he is Hot now. It's nice to see a player succeed who isn't shoved down our throats everyday on PSD. I see him as about a season 48% shooter which isn't a knock at all.

He had a 7 for 7 game I think, which certainly helped his percentage. He also missed like half of the games so far with an ankle injury.

Hopefully his minutes decrease over the course of the season and Splitter's minutes increase.

Stephen Jackson leads the league in three pointers made at 38, and is shooting 44% from beyond the arc.

his sample size is so small, if he has 1-2 bad games, he drops big time. He has 26 attempts. But Bonner may very well be near the league leaders when the season is over anyways. He is a sniper who probably only takes a couple of contested three's all season, and never is put in the position to create his own three with time winding down. So they all come in complete rythm. Hoiberg, Paxon, Kerr, etc. Just snipers. Doesn't make them the best shooters.

whats the record for 3 point percentage in a season?

Yeah. This won't last. He's a great three point shooter, but the sample size is so minuscule that this just isn't telling. I mean, DeShawn Stevenson is #3 right now...that says a lot.

He did really bury the Magic a bit last night. He was great.

Good job Bonner, the Spurs need his presence to be felt out there and stretch the defense.

I'm more impressed with Shannon brown's huge improvement over the off-season from behind the arc atm.

Last year he was 62/189 from the arc: 32.8%
This year he is 24/47 from the arc: 51%
