The cavs have money, not many people that are worth anything. So who should they try and go after?

They only have about 5ish million this year and 9 million available next year. Depending on how the CBA shakes out it may be best for them to just stay put and be under the looming hard cap.

No he won't be. The chance are greater for older D-bag power forwards to be on the block.

They should have gotten michael beasley :laugh2:

But they need a pure scorer...melo would be a perfect fit...too bad cleveland is a shithole and no one wants to go there.

Lebron said that he wishes to play for the cavs later on in his career.

And the Cavs would take him back. As heartbroken as Gilbert is, he wouldn't reject the love of his life. It just seems like the Cavs don't want him since Gilbert is still heartbroken.

ANY team would take Lebron. He's not at that point in his career where his "baggage" outweighs the Pro's of what he would bring to the team (ala Randy Moss).

Cavs fans would be to bitter to ever admit they would take Lebron back.

On topic, Cavs should stay put. They're playing alright together right now. I could honestly see them nabbing an 8 seed in the East. Miami/Cleveland first round matchup? Yes sir! But seriously they don't have attractive options for trade, besides Hickson, but they need to go young and rebuild.

No one wants to play in Cleveland, Artest rejected them for less money in LA, Kidd showed no interest when Lebron pleaded for him, and they didn't even manage to sign a singer player via the recent FA. If I was them, I would just tank and hope the player they draft won't be another choker.

By the time Lebron signed with Miami I don't think there was really anyone left in free agency. Nobody that fit their needs anyways.

The thing is they need to build through the draft. And find guys that don't give a **** about where they play.

Take my Milwaukee Bucks for example. I'll admit, Milwaukee isn't the most disireable place to play and live if you're in your 20s. Especially when you can live in huge warm places like Miami or LA.

The Bucks starters? Jennings, who says how he like Milwaukee because it reminds him of Italy. A place where he can focus on his job (basketball) and seperate it from his social life. Bogut, from another country and doesn't really compare US cities like us Americans do. He'd be happy to play anywhere in America. His home is in Australia and always will be, so he doesn't care where he lives during the season, as long as he can play.

The Bucks also have a lot of international players and these players do not care (generally) where they play in the NBA. They are just happy to be in the NBA and arn't to a level yet where they complain and moan about wanting to play in a better climate or a bigger city with more to do. The cavs needs a lot of THESE players.

Right, because Dwight wants to win, so he'll go to the team that's worse than the one he's currently on... Makes perfect sense.

Danny Granger?

Yeah, but what could they give to Indiana to prompt them to make the trade? The players that Cleveland needs to keep, are the players Indiana would be interested in. Cleveland needs to rebuild through the draft.

That's wishful thinking. Those three guys won't bring us much in return though. And you talk of cap space, but do you realize that all three of those guys are F/A's this summer? Letting them walk would be the way to get cap space.

Melo is not going to Cleveland so people need to stop saying that dumb statemnet! Arenas is the man they need he needs to resurect his career and Dan Gilbert made alot of players hate him after his remarks on Lebron so it is only fitting for the two outcast to team up and try and make a run at a chamionship! J.J. is looking like something special so I would tank the season hope I can get a top 3 pick get a good SG or SF and bring in Arenas and then they would be in the mix again!

They should consider rolling the dice on Oden. When healthy, he has been very good and has some relations to Ohio (Ohio State) and the midwest area in general. I mean that's the most realistic star player (potential) that they can get within a year.

Theres a tread in the cavs forum on exactly that
