Another tough game for the Hawks. I think if we can pressure Drew Brees with mix of blitz schemes we can get him to throw bad passes. Brees already has 12 picks on the year so that is possible. I'm optmistic we can make this a winnable game, but we need Hass to throw like he did last week, Deon Butler and Obi 1 Manubi need to help Mike Williams by running good routes and catching the freaking ball. With Okung back we'll have a formidable line (besides our crappy right tackle Sean Locklear) that should be able to give Marshawn some running lanes. I really hope this is the game the Hawks show off their skills and everybody plays the game of their lives.

I completely agree. No reason we shouldn't be able to put pressure on Brees. A lot of the Bandit formation and forcing him to throw it away.

If the Cardinals can pull an upset so can we im crossing my fingers lol. We need to run the ball and keep Drew Brees off the field we have to set the tone early and get a TD. I noticed when we start a 1st drive that results in points our offense usally rolls but when we don't the other team has the ball a ton and winds up blowing us out.

I noticed this change when I was doing the stats, 10 of Mike Williams 11 catches were for 1st downs. That's what needs to happen, The Saints Secondary is weak already, their defense isn't the best at making tackles but they do gang up well. I think we pick them apart with 4 yard runs and 11 yard passes, and hit Butler deep once or twice.

If Leon gets his chance carrying the football, I'd look for him to break one. Hopefully this will be Lynches coming out party.

Defensively they are supposed to have Bush back, so he'll either be the show or a non-factor. Get pressure on drew and play some solid pass defense, including stopping the screens

For some reason, I feel pretty good about this game. I think I am just trying to be optimistic, but I think the Hawks can carry the momentum they got in the Arizona game to this game. They can't allow the Saints to stick around if they start off hott. A good team like New Orleans will beat you if you do that! I say Hawks 33- Saints 24

I agree. I hope there preparing for Reggie Bush screens i didn't like that one where Arizona ran and only 1 guy sniffed it out but there was no way to make the tackle because it was 1 on 3 blockers.

Hopefully Curry keeps the same intensity and hits Reggie Bush like this:

Stopping the screen is going to be key, this is probably where Bush will be used the most and we had some problems on the edges defensively against the run last week. Hope they sort it out.

It's scary stuff. These guys should hire drivers or even have DD friends get them home. These guys have BIG entourages milking off of them and at the least, one of those dudes has got to think, "If my boy gets popped for a DUI, that messes my game up." It goes back to people needing to take care of people. I LOVE to get my drink on, but I've DD'd several times for the better of my friends and family. I have seen tons of lives ruined because of DUIs and something that could be so easily fixed rarely does...

On a side note, Thank goodness it wasn't our Mike Williams. He's made HUGE strides in turning his life around and a DUI would've jaded him in my eyes.

Hawks need to be very opportunistic this week. I know it sounds pretty simple, but in weeks past they haven't made plays they need. This game if they have a chance at a pick (which Brees has thrown 12 this year!) they need to make it. If they have a guy wide open, Matt has to put the ball to him in stride. The Hawks will not beat the saints with field goals. When they get to the red zone they need to smash the ball in the end zone! I am excited because I KNOW they can beat the Saints. We will see which team shows up on Sunday!

Everything since the Helmet-Helmet Ghost hit on Brees has been ********! Stupid holding call and thena dumbass intentional grounding... I am very optimistic when it comes to our team, but our inability to finsh/contain needs to be fixed ASAP!!!

Yea pretty clear that Mike Williams is the real deal 2nd consective game showing up and Hasselbeck is awsome when given time.

It ain't only Trufant. He has made progress coming back, but he gets caught flat-footed over and over. We need a #1 CB that QBs are afraid to throw the ball in a 5-yd vicinity... I don't think Peterson or Amukamara will be on the board for us, but either of them would fill that role!

Today sucks because Ben Obomanu is having a good game and we just can't get it done.

So Marshawn Lynch said "I thrive on contact" right?

Today a little further than midway through the third quarter he got blasted in the back pretty hard. You could see it hurt him. Well he stood up and had this face like he was going to hide the pain at any cost, and I thought "give him the ball right ****ing now."

Carroll went with a Forsett run, but Lynch stayed in at fullback. Either I took my eyes off of him or he went off screen for a second, but I missed what he did on that play. He ended up on the ground though. It would have been really nice to see him on that play and guage how he actually responded to that "contact."

Red zone offense, secondary (particularly on 3rd and long) run game, stupid *** penalties, refs, tackling.........the list goes on.

Seriously, I saw a lot of bright spots today, but damn......couldn't catch a break! As soon as something was going on our way, it came down like a ton of bricks. This game was very winnable. I didn't get to watch the game, but our 3rd down defense has been terrible all year and pre-season. It's only good when we play bad Olines and Bad QBs.
We play a 7 DB 3rd and long, our hope is to fool the QB and Oline with different blitz looks, but we blitz from 5 yards deep. So QBs like Drew, who are calm in the pocket, can pick us apart. We also play very soft coverage.

I think this game was one of those games we weren't supposed to win .New Orleans is a tough place to play and they are the Champs. If we had won that it would have been a bonus. There were many positives in the game. Our passing game was impressive and Obamanu proved that he is capable of being our #2. Lynch and the secondary sucked. I am confident Lynch will come back, but I question the secondary. We should win the next 3 games. We play the Chiefs, Panthers, and Niners. We can easily be 8-5 playing ATL at home in week 15.

Going on a 3 game win streak into the Atlanta game at home would be HUGE. Some more bright spots from today:

* We didn't give up any sacks
* Obamanu proved that he deserves to be a starter
* Matt threw for 366 yards, 1 TD and no INT's with a 106.4 rating against the #1 pass defense. This just proves that with protection and decent receivers, he can still play at a high level.

Let's get the win at home against the Chiefs next week! I'll be at that game baby! WOO!

Raheem Brock bumped him...Seriously i could see if they threw a flag for a vicious hit but that was not fair. I think this league babys QBS and wants the offense to thrive and the defense to suck.

Owell we gotta get KC and Panthers we definitley can take these guys on at home we better tackle better in the KC game the RBS are a huge part of there offense.

Russell Okung makes the offense MILES better.

Mike Williams is a G.

Ben Obomanu is the most reliable receiver on the team and should be starting opposite BMW. How the F did that happen?

Earl Thomas is crazy good, once his brain catches up he'll be elite.

Hasselbeck got away with a lot of mistakes early, but from the two minute drill at halftime on he was playing like the old Hasselbeck.

Why can't anyone score a TD? If Lynch didn't solve it we're down to QB and OL as the possible reasons.

I'm sick of ****ing field goals. Give the ball to Forsett in short goal situations. We've had 37 trips into the endzone, and we've come away with 11 TD's. This is ****ing ridiculous! We played really well yesterday. We very well could of stolen a win there. They couldn't put us away. They ahd many chances and didn't. We made stupid mistakes, but also the ref made stupid calls. That rouphing the passer was BS. He did not hit helmet to helmet. We should have gotten the ball back and possibly scored a TD.

But either way our O-line is looking solid, giving Hasselbeck time. Hass is lloking good, calm, and accuret. Our WR are doing a great job. If we had Cole-Red Bryant I think we would have won. They wouldn't have been able to run it as easily and we would have gotten pressure on Brees. But that's the thing about this game, you can't always stay healthy. It's happens to every team.

Three things I took away from this game.

1) We need to get a pass rush or actually sack the guy instead of running past him when we do.
2) We need to find our running game, maybe if the Oline could stay healthy and together for more than a week at a time it would help.
3) We need to score TD's. It is getting rediculous that we can't put the ball in the endzone on the 2 yard line. Where is Alexander when you need him, that guy always got into the endzone.

Fix these and we wouldn't have seen 5 TD's in a row put up on us, or at least we would have kept pace.

Kinda hard for our team to get any kind of rush on Brees when the coverage sucks so bad. I mean seriously he would immediatley snap the ball and throw to the ball in some cases and a guy would be wide open. I wasn't expecting us to stop an elite QB though our pass defense is ranked 30th. He fooled Earl Thomas a few times but eh hes a rookie he will learn not to bite on things when defending. But we should take some good things from this game Saints Pass defense was really good and Matt threw 366 yards on them and TD. Okung looked like a pro bowler.

I really hate to say this, but this team is proving that they are not a playoff team. If there was one quality team in this division the Seahawks wouldn't have a chance. Even with our extremely weak schedule we are only 5-5. Every time the offense or defense step up, the other seems to take a step back. It is getting extremely frustrating. Everyone is blaming the game on the late hit call (which was total BS), but we also had two stalled drives by fumbles, one by a holding penalty, and couldn't get the ball into the endzone. This is starting to get a little hard to watch. We are WAY too inconsistent and made Ivory look like a pro-bowler. KC is going to be tough. 8-8 probably wins this division. I can't remember a division that has been this bad.

Is it just me or is Hasselbeck really starting to grasp Bates' offensive scheme? His progressions are much better and he is now throwing to his 1st or 2nd option instead of his last and it has completely changed the complexion of out team. I can't wait until the right side (Locklear in particular) of our line figures out how to run block and we become a 60/40 offense. Furthermore, when is it gonna be said that Tatupu is not an adequate every down linebacker anymore.....the guy gets absolutely torched on one-on-one passing downs. 3rd and longs are our biggest weakness because the middle of our defense is our biggest weakness!

What did you think was gonna happen? We were going to become a playoff contender the first year Carroll came in? No, our team is almost a total 180 compared to last year. We are still trying to build that bond, that teamwork and style of play. Almost every sing;e coach we have this year wasn't there last year. More than half of our guys weren't there last year. Most of them are very young. Hey have no chemistry. But the fact that Carroll is makign us play physical, relentless, and encouraging them to ahve fun. They are playign so much better. Right now we aren't playing as a team, but more with talent. You can't win only playing off of talent.

Sure when healthy I think we can hang with any team. But that's the thing, not every team is going to stay healthy. It's impossible. We are young and learning.

If I were the players I would be happy with how we played, but still hungry to get that win. I bet our team last year wouldn't want to play them, but this team, they would want to play them every week.
