Karl Malone had an unstoppable fadeaway.

Jordan wore number 45 and then played for the Wizards.

I was the coolest kid in class because I had Jordan POGS.

Brevin Knight was good.

Darius Miles was an up and coming star.

Kobe was sponsored my Adidas and had the ugliest shoes in the league.

Keith Van Horn was pretty good.

MJ's opponents actually hated him and would deliberately try to put him out of the game and there were no technical fouls called, let alone guys getting thrown out of a game. if you couldnt handle contact when you had the ball, you couldnt play. now they call every little touch foul and they T you up if you "foul too hard" or are "malicious". when i started actually following the NBA, i was 14. Tmac was the scoring champion and couldnt get past the hornets.

when i was young, the first round of the playoffs were five games.

the warriors constantly got 15 16 or 17 wins per season..and the kings were the most exciting team n loudest arena in the nba

also..i remember when alonzo mourning could play a full season.

I never watched sports growing up, I was a big Xmen/Comic book nerd. Then around 10 or 11 I finally branched out of my bubble and watched sports.

I remember the Finals between the Sonics & Bulls. I thought Gary Payton was the best, and then I vividly remembered watching the back to back Jazz vs Bulls Finals, and I hated Jordan and the Bulls because they were so dominant.

I can remember being over at my friends house swimming and a couple of us running upstairs to watch a game between the Pacers and Bulls in the conference finals that went to 7 games. That's when I really started getting into sports.

The best NBA playoff series I've ever seen to this day was between the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers in 2000 or 20001? Bucks had Cassell, Allen and Glen Robinson, and the Sixers had Iverson(of course), Mutombo, Aaron McKie the 6th man of the year, Eric Snow, and other guys but it was just a great series.

Run TMC was killin it.

Barkley was kneein people in the chest/face on his dunks.

Jordan was god.

The Dream Team took the world by storm.

Players were allowed to play with emotion and attitude.

Many of the players in the NBA's Top 50 greatest of all-time were in their prime!

Blue Chips was a good movie.

Collecting basketball cards was cool.

This is for the NBA historians, the O G's and the not so young gunz. Lets bring back old memories of the NBA. Tell us what you remember about the NBA as a teenager and if you're still a teenager, tell us your idol as a kid.

When I was around your age, T Mac and Vince Carter were better than Kobe

When I was around your age, A.I was the King.

I remember those days. AI was a beast. Carter was dunking on everyone. T-Mac was never better than Kobe though IMO. Maybe for one season, but not back then.

When I was your age A.I. ran the league.
When I was Your age Killer Miller was a three point Killer.
When I was your age Sacramento King was that Dynasty team that never won.
When I was your age Paul Pierce was stabbed multiple times and he came the next year with the Celtics and brought us to the Eastern Confernce Finals.
When I was your age it seem like Chicago Bulls and New york Knicks brought their whole bench out to fight.
When I was your age, the nba use to let teams actually play. Now its "run stop foul freethrow" every other second.lol
WhenI was your age, Celtics use to suck with david wesley and Rick Fox. It shows you time has change.

-The Knicks were actually good.
-The Knicks-Heat was one of the best rivalries in the NBA.
-Jeff Van Gundy grabbed onto Alanzo Mourning's leg during a brawl.
-Latrell Sprewell choked out his coach.
-Michael Jordan dominated the league.
-I used to look forward to the sunday triple header on NBC.
-The Seattle Supersonics existed.
-The "little Penny" commercials with Penny Hardaway used to entertain me.
-Marv Albert wore women's panties.
-I used to try and impersonate the Antoine Walker shimmy when playing pickup basketball...
-The NBA starter jackets were cool.
-LJ's 4 pt play
-The Knicks drafted Fredric Weis over Ron Artest, who i wanted. (I also wanted William Avery from Duke...)
-Kwame Brown, Eddy Curry and Michael Olowakandi were can't miss prospects.
-Stephon Marbury and Kevin Garnett made up one of the best young duos in the league for the Timberwolves.
-Eddie Jones was one of my favorite players.
-Raef Lafrentz was the subject of trade rumors every year.
-The Wizards were called the Bullets.
-Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady were the best combo of players in NBA Showtime for PS1.
-Mookie Blalock had the coolest name in the NBA.
-It was cool to like the Sonics and Hornets because they had cool uniforms.

when I was your age, every dumb kid without any clue of what basketball really is was saying Iverson was better than Kobe!
ha!
they never got to understand that Kobe was playing in a team packed of talent forced to be the third or second option throughout his rookie and sophomore years and so, when he had the potential to be the leader himself for a regular team like Iverson got to be.
I know Iverson had the stats, but Kobe been always a better all around player since day one!

At the time the idea of Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming on the same team was almost unreal.
As someone who`s closely followed T-Mac`s career I`m now embarassed by how excited I was when he got traded there. Everyone was talking about Nash going to Phoenix that year, but at the time T-mac to Houston for me was mind blowing.

kenny the jet smith had hair

the dream was unstoppable

the admiral had the best physique! way waaaayy before dwight howard

barkley was actually a monster down low

rodman had a different hair every week (more like every other game)

no player complained about hand checks

no player complained about doing the "dirty work" in the court

iverson shook the GOAT

rick fox and doug christie fought in the hallway going to the locker room

shaq called the sac kings, sac queens on live tv

FILA was a basketball shoe lol

NBA was actually tough. NBA was pure

I remember Fila basketball shoes. All those 90`s memories are great.

Jeff Van Gundy was a coach, but he was still an idiot.

JVG is the man! Shut yo mouth.

Jason Williams was one of the most exciting players to watch.

The Knicks had a winning record.

Greg Ostertag.

I remember early 2000`s Brevin Knight finished 2nd to Kidd once in assists.

You are killing me with that, come on the guy's wife followed the team's bus around in a minvan for crying out loud. Then when he hit a shot, he held up a sign to his wife. The guy was a complete tool, but not a bad player by any means.

lol. so true. i was thinking the same thing. DC`s wife absolutely pwns him. It was funny to watch tho. Her name kept coming up in wierd stories.

and 1 tapes were the **** and everyone tried to break people's ankles or dunk on someone

ya. when and1 first came out with tapes we would go crazy watching what some of those guys on the street could do.

I tried following it for a while after it became an organized tour, but it wasn`t the same.

Rasheed Wallace broke Charles Barkley's technical foul record....then broke his own record the following year
Sheeeeeed! Gotta love 'em.

Ya when I was a kid I thought Michael Jordan was somehow rigged by the NBA to make him do everything he did. At first I would root against him because I thought Olajouwon was the man. Now I'm an adult and realize how great Michael actually was.

I was watching a classic game the other day from 1999 and they were talking about what a bust Robert Horry was as a player after he left Houston. It was like woa! Wierd!

I remember when Moses Malone was league MVP. I remember how The Dream & Barkley were tutored by Moses at different points and how he instilled hard work as an integral part of success at the NBA level. Today it's Dwight Howard going to see Hakeem for advise on foot work.

I remember when Jerry Sloan and Chet Walker ran the Chicago Bulls. With them two playing together the Bulls were pretty good team.

I remember when Wilt Chamberlain decided that he was going to lead the league in assists. He would get so pissed if the guy missed. lol

I remember when Rick Barry was in Golden State. He was unstoppable. He could put up points with the best of 'em. Now his sons are retired from the NBA.
