Portland Trail Blazers center Greg Oden continues to try to strengthen his left knee to combat the tendinitis and atrophy and reduce the pain hes experienced since fracturing his kneecap 11 months ago, a league source said. Oden remains hopeful of playing before the end of 2010.

Wait so you mean he was to be injured all year?

All of 2010.. yes. That's only like a month and a half away. I'm pretty sure he means before Jan 1 and not the whole basketball season.

I thought he was suppose to be back sooner than that.

I thought he was supposed to be back by Christmas? If not, that's a shame...

EDIT: Yeah just saw, never mind

It will be interesting to see how his career will look like when it is all said and done. (Hopefully he remains on the Same Team, and Portland doesn't pull a T-Mac on Him)

I really think he can still be a great NBA player, he hasn't even got to show what he can do yet. Sucks that injuries are turning him into a "bust" so fast.

Ok, I was thinking they were saying the season.

Even so, I'd expect him to play within the first months of the season when there was a chance he'd be back in time to start it. All these delays look bad, and not very lofty goals.

Greg Oden would be a great for the Hornets, if Blazers leave him for free agency

They already have Okafor.

I suggested trading him for Nash a year ago and I still think that would have been an excellent trade for both teams.

I would still love Oden on the Raptors.

More like the Suns or Pistons with their medical staffs

Portland is really kicking themselves in the anus for not drafting Durant. It's gonna be like Sam Bowie and Michael Jordan all over again....

Greg Oden = Bust I been saying it since 2007. He will be traded for a bag of peanuts at the end.

I'd gladly take Oden on my team if he could stay healthy. Sadly, we all know he can't.
