Money maker in Turkey. That's a Muslim country for all you "terrorist" hunters. They're just normal people.

^^ what ?

there's a lot of people out there who thinks Islam is a "evil" religion and that all Muslims are evil. They think if you're a Muslim...you're inherently a terrorist. dnewguy was making a point saying they're not.

Good for Iverson.

The question is, will the fan support from abroad be enough to heal the gaping wound that Iverson has after being dismissed from the NBA...and without winning a title? For most American players, the only thing that matters is playing against the best the NBA has to offer and winning an NBA title.

Kinda like America underappreciates Jerry Lewis, but the French think he's a God?

i don't get what the big deal is he'd probably get the same ovation in Detroit since he saved them from winning ball games and going deep in the playoffs..

Actually I know a few Turks who told me they were devastated at the lame welcome he got. They expected at least 15.000 people but the soccer team messed up real bad the day before (drawing 1-1 against the worst team of the league) and for some reason nobody cared about Iverson.

1000 fans showing up = fail

Pretty sad :(
Iverson was my favorite player growing up. Even today its weird watching my Knicks play the Sixers and not see Iverson and his trademark 'Braids.

i am from Turkey.People, there is a Turkish lakers web site here with 15000 members.(they interviewed with odom and j.crittenton when he was a rookie) İf you think that group of people who came to see iverson is huge you know nothing about Turkey well normally. As i said before Besiktas fans are the best in the world by far and i mean it(this is coming from a guy whose favourite team is real rivals with besiktas called Galatasaray)... 20000 people came to see Big soccer player this year...

AI will live on forever in my memories;

PJ: Michael
Jordan guards AI, the crowd goes crazy, mini crossover to see if he'll bite, then BOOM! MJ left watching as he shakes him and drops the J in his eye, the crowd goes crazy

Man I'll never forget that moment...
